I know the real reason why there are Discs and Frisbee.

I used to play Ultimate (Frisbee) in college. For what we knew we never referred to the sport as Ultimate Frisbee because.

So they are right to call that product a disc because the name "Frisbee" is a registered trademark of Wham-O toys. Only Wham-O has the name Frisbee products.

Pretty sure Frisbee is a brand name. I still call them all that. Just like all tissues are Kleenex regardless of brand.

if you want to get really Technical in playing Ultiame, some players call them Markers.

I call them discuses.

Pretty much, considering that "frisbee" has been a household word in the US since maybe the 50s.

This is like asking do we call sodas in general sodas, cokes, or pop. Frisbee for me....and soda, although I used to call them all cokes.

In Dutch the word is also frisbee, also only just learned it is originally a brand name just now.

Pro disc golfers hate the terms frisbee golf and frolf.... but as an avid disc golfer I use frolf all the time idgaf

Now that I think about it, it also makes the distinction between the discus (the sporting equipment) and the frisbee (the toy) clearer.
