I'd rather you keep it to one game. Otherwise it would only be fair to allow votes like "Metal Gear Solid HD Collection" and then things get silly. Umineko is also going to be split between the Question Arc and Answer Arc, so vote with that in mind (spoiler: Umineko has some support).

So far, 20 people have voted, with 195 votes being cast. One person decided to not fill out an entire list and only gave points to five games.

104 different games received points. People are voting for a wide variety of games, which means that at the moment having just 3 ardent supporters puts you pretty high up the list. This is likely to change somewhat as more votes come in, but considering that people are voting for games I've literally never heard of despite me being a huge fucking nerd, it's worth noting that each vote in this list is going to count for a lot.

8 of those 104 games only have 1 point.

3 of those 104 games have received a +10 vote and nothing else.

The highest-scoring game with only two supporters has 18 points.

The lowest-scoring game with four supporters has 11 points.

I definitely was not expecting any other votes for 2-3 of the games I voted for. Possibly a lot more of them depending on the subset of b8 which actually participated in the topic, but looking at the list I'm somewhat optimistic in that regard at least.

I tried to make mine as non mainstream as possible but I'm def basic as hell, so it's just a list of what you'd normally pick lol

Hmm...I'm considering weighting the votes so that +1 isn't so meaningless compared to +10. Something like making the points +10, +10, +9, +9, +8, +8, +7, +7, +6, +6. Still gives the games you put at the top of the list an advantage but also helps out games that are on more lists with low rankings. After testing it out the rankings don't actually change that much regardless, but it's something to consider.

(Feel free to gives you opinions on this - if people hate the idea I won't implement it!)

That sounds good IMO.

I'm playing around with how exactly to weight it (current iteration has +1 bumped up to +4 and everything in the middle adjusted accordingly) but yeah after running some numbers I think I'll definitely weight the points in some way. Otherwise votes below the original +6 cutoff don't mean very much.

I like the idea of weighting, but I think the top of the list should still be significantly heavier (and +10 should be the only +10. 10s are special).

I'd probably do something like
10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 6, 5, 5, 4, 4
so the weighting is all in the tail

This is very close to what I'm currently using. I used some splits like 5.5 as I didn't want any value to be exactly equal to another.
