Sell online, honestly there's really no need to run a physical store in 2020, especially now. I have about 7 different sites to sell on and the demand never stops.

Be interesting to see if GameStop are even going to honor my Hidden Fates purchases (or maybe they don't even have them yet). Out of the 30 items I ordered, they have shipped 18. 10 of the 12 not shipped are the Hidden Fates tins (other 2 are random Funko Pops)

If you're opening packs for profit, low volume is gambling. Managing the demand and buying in large amounts at below retail...you're going to make money!

I can very easily see me crunching numbers in spreadsheets and starting to buy/sell this type of stuff (in general, not just HF/DP). Just googling things, it seems pretty easy to turn a decent profit.

Just try to not go too deep and live off your profits. I've been buying and selling Animal Crossing cards (started with my own collection) with great results, so I have a foundation that I'll build on, rather than investing my hard-earned money! Now I'm just looking for ways to make something long term, as well as collecting using my profits only!

And now I've found Shining Legends at Walmart....why does this seem too easy??

No just Pokemon, it is just me and my wife to be and we love Pokemon so much we can't handle other cards. I also buy and sell vintage cards which is actually our primary money maker as I have yet to lose money on a single card I have bought, point of pride really.

So anyway we love to open stuff with super rare exception (like we bought garchomp boxes for 40 at walmart and have been selling them for 120 lol)

Also you should make an exception sand collect hidden fates too it is a fantastic set, you'll regret it in 10 years I promise!

But yeah sure I don't know if you did already but did you give me a buy list? Don't be vague, my fiance doesn't like to process orders like "secret rares" name and card number :P. She's an accountant she lives in her spread sheets!

Hidden Fates below retail is a win if you know what you are doing.

Here's our process:

We sell all codes to a site that we scan in nice and easy
We sell cheap GXes in bulk for 1-1.5 dollars in massive bulk to another site
We group our cards with holo/reverse holo and everything else being sorted
We sell lots of 300 holos and 5000 bulk
If cards pass the eye test we scan them to be precise to see if they are a 10 quality card
If so we send it off to PSA
if not we sell singles

PSA cards come back, mostly ten. If we have one we sell, if 8-9 we sell and make a thin profit off of card value + psa cost and call it a win.

Repeat.

What Shining Legends in particular and what is it worth? I just checked the stock near me and there's plenty of stores nearby with some sort of stock.

Or is this purely for your own collection?

Just the darkrai collection with 4 packs in, for cheaper than anywhere online. Double money if you disassemble and sell!

Hmm, I'm ~$250 invested in now. I think I might invest another $250 if I can find anything local and then just work off the profit from there on out.

There's 8 Walmarts within 15 miles of me that all are listed as having 6+ in stock for $20 each.

EDIT: Looks like they would be about $13 profit per box at that price? $6 per booster, $5 for the figure, $4 for the GX card?

I assume it's something along the lines of registering as a business, getting a business resale certificate and then just buying through the wholesale direct?

Perks of being a business would also mean you can write off a lot of stuff on taxes too I guess.

It would be nice if you could see wholesale prices without having to have an account to judge whether it's worth. I know it will be but just would be nice to see the cost breakdown versus retail.

I'll definitely just look for deals and resell. Poor man's pokemon card reseller. Still worth it as a hobby and extra income, I think!

Got another shipping email from Gamestop. So now officially everything except for my 10 Hidden Fates tins have shipped.

My local Walmart (like 5 mins away) has the Shining Legends Raichu GX for $22.50 in plentiful stock. That has 5 Booster Packs in so should be pure profit (albeit not as good as Hidden Fates and Greninja). May nip over there and buy a few.

I can tell you for sure the Snorlax and Morpeko Pin Collections for $11 is a good price. I paid $15 American each for them. You get 2 base Sword & Shield packs and 1 base Sun and Moon pack in each

Like I have 35 Shining Legends Boosters if I open things up but they don't sell often at all. So my best bet would probably be to sell like in like batches of 10 for $50? At $5 a pack it would perfectly cover all the shining legends boxsets and everything else remaining would be profit at that point.

I guess eBay doesn't let you sell much when you're starting out. I don't think Amazon has that restriction, but its fees are a little higher

Well the sale I was using to get the cheap Hidden Fates tins has ended. It was supposed to run until Sunday but has been replaced by the Memorial Day sale and that does not include the tins in the sale. So that will put an end to me stocking up more for the meantime at least.

I went from a 10 limit to 800 in 2 months!

When I sold 10 things, I wrote them with reasoning to increase. 1, i was fulfilling orders, 2, I was selling in-demand items. They increased it to 100. When I reached 100 quickly, they automatically increased it to 800

Yeah Ebay has no problem upping limits. I think we're probably unlimited now if I had to guess but it is just concerns about order fulfillment.
