Yeah, Atlantica is bad. Agrabah was fine, but not as good as the first game. Pride Lands is kinda hit or miss for me but still mostly pretty good. Halloweentown was a lot of fun though, yeah.

Gummy Ship is great. Underrated aspect of KH2 and KH3. Fun minigame.

When I played the Gummy Ship levels in KH1 I was like "dang I forgot how bad this was I remember it being better"

So the opposite happening in KH2 was an extremely pleasant surprise!

Wish Nintendo would just make a basic Star Fox game again... The variety we see in KH2 is enough! There's all sorts of fun stuff you can do without going to crazy extremes like they always seem to!

Whew, finally back to playing Final Fantasy VIIR and I just finished Chapter 12. Gonna be honest, this is the first time I can definitively say the original did it better, which is a shame because this might be my favorite part of the Midgar section. The urgency of the original is what made it work so well, so I think all the extra stuff actually detracted from it here.

Boss fight was fun though!

I liked 12 a lot. I think 11 did more to ruin the sense of urgency than 12 did, and I enjoyed the Aeris cutaways during the climb

I think halloween town sucks in kh2 from a world design perspective.

It's good that it's short and the flavor is always excellent but it's quite literally three to five rooms in a line.

But I'm finishing up my BSc right now, so I will begin my MA in September.

Nothing for sure other than that it will be something within the field of Condensed Matter. I've been doing my BSc at the Neutron Scattering group here, constructing equipment for measuring properties of superconductors. I ended up building a coaxial susceptometer. I will probably continue in that group, not necesarrily doing the same. Regardless of what it ends in, I'm trying to work out doing a project instead of a 7.5 ECTS course on my MA where I continue working on this, since the pandemic had our University closed for a while and so I didn't get as far as I has hoped. I was supposed to join a trip to PSI in Geneva and actually be a part of some neutron scattering here after defending, but the pandemic prevented that.

What field is it that you're in?

Cool! I was in condensed matter theory and I guess switched to AMO theory, but I'm not sure there's all that clear of a distinction; I've mostly been working on stuff that pretty generically applies to many-body hamiltonians (tensor network stuff). Actually, the new project I just started is probably just straight-up condensed matter (though I've also done some theory work for some actual AMO experiments).

Yeah, that's fair. It's my idea that a lot of people take longer than initially planned here too. I also can't remember how far you were back when I visited you, but I appear to at some point have gotten the idea that you were further than you were.

I will be half a year late at the very least. I'm not officially beginning my MA before winter actually, because I need a single course of 7.5 ECTS (which is what I want to be the project I mentioned) since I studied part time in a brief period. But you can take courses for your MA half a year before actually enrolling, so my BSc and MA will be overlapping next semester.

I am taking longer than normal; Im just finishing up my 7th year. I think the average here is a little more than 6 (a decent number of people from my cohort took a 7th year, but Im not sure how many will take an 8th like me). A big part of it is that it took me like three years before I ended up in the group Im currently in.

She actually seems to like shounen more than anything else, but she also really loves action movies in general. She's not opposed to watching some slice of life, but only once in a while.

Which makes the pressure of which ones to choose all the greater.

As luck would have it, Dragon Ball Z is a shounen series where a lot of sub watchers prefer the dub because they don't like Goku's Japanese voice. Fullmetal Alchemist's dub is popular as well should you ever decide you want to try again. Those are the two series that come to mind when I think of series that a sub watcher might watch dubbed. Pokemon is a third but I assume that's out for other reasons. >_>

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Bebop are two others I think of as "sub watchers still might prefer dubbed" but I'm not sure the former is the right alley (maybe ask user SaveEstelle?) and well you'd have a better grasp on if Bebop is right for this yourself but it'd be a rewatch for you at least, if not for you both.

Can confirm as someone who tends to want to watch the original. Bebop has such a good dub and I honestly think I needed GitS dubbed to follow it fully.
