The true GOAT out here with another win: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jaO81rxZuyE

lmao the highlights

Peyton trolling Brady over Super Bowls with hypothetical caddy selections.
Barkley chiming in that he'll donate $25k out of his own pocket if Brady can hit the green; he misses. "You know, Tom, I should have said 'If you could just keep it on the planet.'"
"These aren't the Falcons you're playing against; Tiger's a pretty good closer." "Same colors though."
"We're just looking for TB to find some grass here." *Brady lands it like half a mile off the fairway*

F/GO: Been a while since I think I've been in a stumped "probably gonna need Command Seals" fight but Pseudo-Singularity II stepped it up and found one. That Demon God Pillar turning into Ruler was... less than ideal. Only had AP to try the fight once but it went... poorly. Got him to like 40%... and if that Guts gives him any substantial amount of health back that I also have to deplete then ffffffffff. He did murk Shiki (Assassin) super fast with a BS instant Death skill which he kept whiffing on in the Caster version of the fight but even if that doesn't happen I doubt it changes the fight substantially. I think the limitations of my extremely limited viable Servant pool might get me finally and I may have to pull back and work on getting EXP cards to bring some Servants up. I was hoping I could power through the story first and Shinjuku and the entire rest of Agartha made it seem plausible but yuck this battle. It might be semi-plausible to have Mash rolling with an Arts-heavy front line and just try to spam her NP because my attempt showed if I could keep that up I could mostly neutralize his attack damage. My only way to deal with the debuffs like his NP's Burn though is Saber Shiki's NP (and Story Support d'Eon for himself) so that's a problem along with his Charm/2000 HP Damage skill. And of course the nuclear option of abandoning my Story NPC thing and just pulling in a Friend Avenger like Jeanne Alter but I've come so far like this!

=(

If I "just" need to deplete his health bar the one time, I think Command Seal full rez will do it but it's a bit disconcerting that I think there's a non-zero chance it can't if bad luck strikes. If that Guts complicates the fight and makes it any longer than that I don't think even the Seals can save me. Oh well, got 3 days to think about it until they regen (Tragically, I used them just before in a fight I likely could have won without them but I didn't think I was going to run into this lol so I just used them to preserve the AP from having to retry the fight. whoops.)

Edit: Looked it up, oh my god the Guts bring him back to 100% and you need to deplete that too to win. fml.

LOL. Think Mash and Waver are must deploys. After that I think it branches a bit. Berskalot maybe if I want to YOLO it and have Mash fire her NP Turn 1 with CEs + Waver. I learned from the Caster fight that he's a goddamn cheater and can fire his skills through Skill Seal so while Level 60 Anastasia has been able to pull her weight at times here she's probably not worth a deploy. Fujino and Shiki (Assassin) have been my Single Target nukes but the class disadvantage wrecks them here. ...Hans is at like 3rd Ascension and halfway to Final so maybe while I wait for the seals I can get some EXP cards and bring him up a bit for his support? And idk David just for an Order Change Party Evade if I get caught with buffs down?

xp: there's a trick with his guts if you don't want him to resurrect to full. It disappears after turn 10. I think there's a half AP story thing coming up soon (tomorrow night?) which would make retries easier, or you could press on with the story when that comes (nothing in the main story references Agartha, unlike the other three EoRs).

I now have more playtime in KH2 than it took me to beat KH1, and I still seem to have quite a bit of game left! This is better than KH1 in pretty much every way. The worlds have much better area design, have a lot more meat to them, and coming back later for more story stuff means you get a lot more development. Some of them are kinda meh on the first go around, but improve with round 2. Pirates of the Caribbean, for example, was super lame. It was just the movie's plot, and not delivered in a particularly interesting way. At least they tried something fun with round 2. Beast's Castle was a good area the first time, but I liked the way they mixed in the overarching plot for R2 a lot. Coliseum is a lot more interesting here than it was in KH1, and having Auron as the bonus character here was genius. This game does great with the FF characters in general - in the first game, they were more of a fun bonus (other than Leon), but here they're really worked into the plot well. I love it. Only flaw is Aeris's lame VA. Even YRP are integrated in a neat way. I can't believe KH3 would just get rid of the FF characters.

The main story is solid, and I'm following it better this time than before when I hadn't played CoM, but I think Org 13 is probably a bit too big. They could've cut a few members without losing anything in order to give us more memorable recurring villains. I'm still not entirely sure who Xemnas is - it kinda seemed like it was just Xehanort going by a different name? I dunno. Kinda lame that pretty much all of them are guys, too, especially after KH1 gave us a few female villains. Having more Mickey involved with the main plot is cool at least.

Best part of the game so far is Timeless River though. Everything about that part was just amazingly cool. I love how little of this game I remember, and that was a perfect surprise. The combat is also still very good. I like the Forms, though some of them are less interesting than others, and leveling most of them up feels like a pain, especially Limit form, which feels like I can only get 2 XP every time I transform...

Which was Mena Suvari! It's almost incomprehensible how bad she was.

Timeless River is fantastic. That's probably my favorite part of KH2, as well as the Hollow Bastion invasion at the midpoint. Also, forms level up based on certain criteria. You might not be doing the right things to level up Limit.

Does it? I'm like 99% sure my first attempt went waaaaaay over 10 turns and it was still going strong. I think I actually had Mash alone stall out that long from the back line. When I looked up what his Guts did and how it impacted the fight I saw the 10 turn expire thing for the arrow after this one. Said the victory condition in this fight was to get him to use his Guts twice.

Forms are the best. Most of the forms can be cheesed in similar ways for levelling. If you leave a world before the Drive Gauge runs out, when you return it's still at full so you can spam whatever action is needed to gain EXP for the form then leave before it runs out to preserve the gauge and repeat. I think it's super abusable in Agrahbah with one of the Mushroom XIII's in the Treasure Room.

For Limit I think you get EXP towards it every time you use a finisher. Each form's EXP condition is in a status window IIRC. Might be the actual "Status" option, I forget. It's somewhere in one of the menus.

Invasion was good stuff too. Definitely a good epic feel there.

With Limit, it says it gets XP from using a finisher, but using a Limit costs half of Sora's MP, so using two Limits wipes his MP gauge and he generally doesn't get his MP back fast enough to use more. I dunno if I'm missing something there.

The trick in Agrabah relies on the Mushroom XIII hanging around a while as a target and the Save Point being an instant MP Refill and Teleport out all being super close to one another, IIRC. If you want to cheese it.

Valor and Master are more fun IMO.

F/GO Update: Only took two shots at it since that but I think I'm mostly at peace with the general framework of the strategy I outlined before. Currently running Mash/Waver/Berskalot - Hans/Story Support/Fujino. David might have been more viable if he had levels but honestly the crux of the strategy is damage mitigation to the point where I don't need to evade so I think I'd rather have Fujino there because with her 3rd Skill she can at least get some shots off. In a perfect world I'd have a second Berserker in her spot instead - Atalante Alter? - but again would need more EXP for that to appear worth it.

Still haven't actually depleted his first health bar which bodes... ill... but I think it's possible with some luck that I can win the fight with Seals. Problem is it's pretty reliant on some luck and not getting screwed over by his Instant Death skill. Or his Charm skill locking someone up at the exact wrong moment.

If I understand correctly a bunch of EXP Cards should be coming my way soon from the Mana Prism Shop between New Month and New Campaign but it'll feel gross to me to redirect them just to win this fight by putting them into say, Hans and Atalante Alter (I mean, I would eventually, but I was hoping to raise a few others first before getting to them) but I may go for it. Have a little bit to think on it still.

Actually a bit more bummed than I expected over hitting this wall. I had a good pace going before but man putting a Ruler Class Servant as a boss like this with 100% Guts? If it weren't for the Guts I'd simply nod my head and think "Well played, game." but this just feels cruel to F2P lol. Though I guess my neurosis about using Story Supports is the real problem here. If I grabbed a Friend Avenger I'd torch this fight lol. Might not even need seals at all lol.

We were planning to take a trip to Europe for our honeymoon, but that got postponed, obviously, so now we're going in October. For our mini moon, we rented an Airbnb in Indianapolis. I've been declined due to a lack of credit history (presumably?) the only times I've ever applied for a credit card. I'm sure there's an art to this but from the outside it seems like a catch-22 situation where you can only get a credit card if you've already had a credit card.

These were cards that were advertised as supposedly being aimed at people without much credit history.

I think I'd say it's worth leveling a servant for just one fight, especially since servants like Hans will be useful later on (and Atalante too). For example, when you fight Rulers again.

Some people do it to maintain fiscal responsibility - they'd overspend if they used a credit card, so they stick to debit.

I use credit for practically everything though, unless I run into a situation where I can't for whatever reason.

I was going to apply for a credit card at my own bank this year but then after COVID-19 happened I sort of forgot about it. In theory my bank should at least know that I have a monthly income and that I'm paying bills every month and that I have enough money saved with them that they could collect on even if I did attempt to screw them over.

It might be there are some cards they would have given me, for the record. I'd avoided the absolute bottom of the barrel cards aimed at people who had defaulted on loans, since I've never done anything like that, but maybe the companies view people without much credit history as being in the same boat.

fyi since i was in this boat pretty recently - I got a credit card through my bank, and my limit was 500 dollars. It was almost more hassle to try and use it for certain purchases to keep that 'ideal' debt ratio or whatever. I ended up just ignoring that I had it.

I don't have a good solution for you unfortunately, I was forced into solving the problem when my car broke down at site one day (it was an hour tow back to civilization), and when looking at the cost to repair my car, it didn't make economic sense so I bought a new car. After a few months of payments on that, I got an airline card with an absurd limit and I've been good since.

Did a few more worlds in KH2, some of them unfortunately not so good. Atlantica sucks even harder than the first game. The music is fun, but the rhythm aspect is painfully basic. It could've been so much fun if it were more like Theatrhythm! The plot is bottom tier for all the worlds so far too. Not only does it rehash the movie plot, it does so despite Ursula being the villain in KH1. Like what? Did they really have to make Ariel that stupid? The moment where Sora's like "screw this shit" and nukes Ursula almost redeemed it, but alas, that wasn't quite the end. Blah.

Agrabah was mostly just mediocre plotwise. The first half was kinda neat since it felt like they were avoiding Return of Jafar, but then they did it in the second half anyway. Unfortunately, the gameplay sucked hard here. Fighting on the carpet was abysmal, which is a shame how could other flying segments of the game are (Gummy Ship is actually fun and made me want more! The flying minigames in 100 Acre Woods are super fun! I think there's a great flying segment near the end of the game too). Controlling it just wasn't fun, and it takes away so much that the rest of the game has (like allies and Drive). The Jafar boss fight especially sucked.

I was worried Pride Lands would have some of the same issues, but it looks like they figured it out a little better here. No Drive is still disappointing, but you have allies, and fighting doesn't feel bad. It's funny, early on I was like "I enjoy this sense of speed, but it'd have to be faster to really make this form fun." And then you get a huge speed upgrade and it's awesome! Good on you game designers.

Thankfully, the other world I finished was great. Halloweentown was probably the best Disney world in KH1, and it's still excellent here. The new costumes were awesome, Sora marking out over Santa is adorable, and I highly appreciate that they managed to do so much with it in both games without ever rehashing the movie's plot. Wasn't a huge fan of the boss fight with Oogie, but it wasn't bad, and the rest of the world made up for it. I really need to watch the movie again sometime...
