The trick to make money is to buy Estate as Kiryu, then going to his office and waiting, since you get money in real time. For example let's say you get money every 10 minutes. So go to the office, wait 10 minutes, collect the money, go buy more estate, repeat. Just play something on PC or Tablet while waiting for the money to come in. Don't do it all at once though I suggest.

No, the trick is to smash the Mr. Shakedowns

0 is the last game in the series to not have autosave, actually! (Well, technically Kiwami was but they officially added it in for PC)

Edit: Huh, apparently Kiwami 2 didn't have autosave on consoles either, that's really bizarre.

I did grow up without it, I also grew up without smartphones and decent internet connection but I've grown accustomed to them. >_>

Also saving in this game is kinda annoying because you need to go through like at least 6 screens.

That's like at least three more steps than PS1-PS2 era games.

Yeah, saving in the game is kind of a hassle. It's 2020, there's no reason to not have autosaving available as an option in games.

Man every game I played until a few years ago didn't had autosaves and even now if a game hasn't autosave I don't complain. I play Dragon Quest games and Tales games and they never have autosaves either.

Anyway, I finished playing catch up with the previous save.

Along the way, I also met a fortune teller who referenced future/previous Yakuza games and I don't get it but OK. I hired her as a real estate advisor and she costs a hefty 28mil per project! Surely nothing can go wrong with hiring paranormals for legit business!

I also helped a man find her long lost daughter...except not really, it's just someone who shares a similar past. Well, at least they found each other as sugar daddy and sugar baby so all is well.

I'm kinda digging this 'recruiting advisors' part of the mini game. Reminds me of Suikoden...

Oh I also got the weapon shop to open so that's nifty, I can actually repair my weapons now.

Despite just playing these substories and knowing how wild they are, it's still crazy to read them completely out of context.

I haven't played any of the other Yakuza games and that fortune teller substory kind of bummed me out. All I could think was, "ah man Kiryu in prison for that long? This must not end well".

Yeah, the catfighting sucks. It's one of the main reasons why I decided not to go for the platinum.

I won catfighting 2/3 times.

The skill for each attack determines not only how much damage a successful use of that attack does, but for the computer, how likely they are to use it

At the beginning, there's like a scroll that says how each girl is feeling. That actually matters.

Strategy: There is one girl who is clearly the best, a couple who are just behind her. If the best girl's mood is bad, either choose one of the other two of they're in a good mood or just leave and rejoin for better RNG. When you fight, choose whatever attack counters the other girl's best. If the other girl has a tie between stats, choose whichever counter you're stronger in.

And that's it.

Yeah catfighting isn't too bad once you realize how simple the AI is, but it's still not anything you'd really want to do compared to all the other stuff you could be doing unless you're going for 100%.

And it's...Kuze on a motorcycle! Oh man this cut scene reminds me of No More Heroes but thankfully he gets off the bike before the battle.

Man Kuze is such a good villain, I love beating his old ass face. He must be like, at least 35? Dead people should stay dead.

Oh yeah previously we went out the sewers to arrive at Futaba's palace (Persona 5 spoilers) to find some pimp dancing with a bimbo. Man this club sucks.

The hedonist pimp name's Awano and he's the PR guy for the family. He asks us to join him but yeah we ain't touching that (I kinda hope we can though).

Nishiki kidnapped us to some mountain (I thought we were going to meet up with Majima, that would be fun) and tried to mercy kill Kiryu but he's too much of a softie to do it. :( A+ cut scene here.

Kiryu said they're no longer bros so Nishiki won't feel bad about his murder attempt, then he jacked his car and left Nishiki to be eaten by bears.

Aaand that's all for the chapter.

Oh one more thing, I ended up using Beast style a lot last chapter lol. It's pretty nice once I realize I don't have to resort to attacking with items all the time (and once I got that accessory that makes enemies less likely to gang up on me).

Hurray, back to Majima. He didn't kill Makoto! (yet). Good job.

So Lee told us Makoto's deal, she came to the town when she was 18 but got sold to the Korean mafia. They did nasty things to her, the jerks. Last thing she saw was a bat tattoo on someone's arm. Lee is out for blood for him, while Makoto just wants to stop his wrongdoing.
