Phantom Thief B from the previous game. As expected. He just didn't set his hints on fire last time. And makes sense that he had some dealings with not really stealing from the Mayor, seeing as how the Mayor was part of Ouroboros's plans. Also makes sense as to why Dalmore didn't even give a fuck that it went missing.

The scene of Kloe and Estelle reuniting is low-key one of my favorite moments of the game. Kloe just a fantastic character in general imo.

Yup, in Ruan he sends you on a really stupid quest line where there's vague clues and in the end he disguises himself as Portos to slip by you unnoticed. It was pretty much the worst quest in the first game.

Went to the lighthouse with a realization that there was probably a hidden quest I missed since it's so out of the way, then I got a hidden quest. Bunch more bait and I got right into using it. Man, this game has a lot more time wasting ability.

Also, I got to catch my first fish that I get to use to catch more fish. Bring it on.

Alright, finished the final little mystery in Ruan that I know of. Time to head out for Zeiss and finish for the night.

Even if it ultimately isn't going to be worth it, I gambled enough to get myself the Long Barrel, as it was the only thing there I didn't have already.

And now setting off for Zeiss... Except for one interruption. A little cliche thing that I saw coming. Can't reach X number of people to say goodbye due to them being out of the house, and as I stopped by the Academy the Dean and the Student Council people were also missing. And then here they all are, to say bye to us.

I had to wait till taking off before I sent this message, since you never know if "heading to Zeiss then turning it off" means another like 3 chapters after something unexpected happens, ahaha~

Of course, I'll still spend time talking to the people on the airship. Man, I remember the name "Hardt"... Wish I remember what sidequest he was involved in though.

Holy crap a Bracer request specifically for Estelle. That's fantastic. Leiston Fortress training (due to being victorious in the tournament). Pretty neat thing. And since it's short gotta do that before speaking to the Professor.

And for a final post for now... Thank you. Forgot about that and actually looked it up last game trying to get the Quake Arte, but failed to get it. Unsure what was wrong with the wikia there. I'll see if I can't rectify such mistakes when it comes down to it in this game.

Alright, Zeiss started and first things first... oh fuck already Bleublanc is sending us on a search. Though two things already.

1) Seems a bit easier right now
2) OMG THE CARDS ARE VISIBLE NOW

Already a bit better than how it was done in the first game. Though I can't work on anymore quests until I visit the Professor, despite how we have a short Leiston Fortress quest.

Damn, I basically gave up against Lt. Col. Cid since I wasn't able to impede him twice or heal between his attacks without losing two people, didn't realize the quest would end after it, not give me a retry. But it makes sense to be an optional victory.

I won't load save to get it done properly. Also, noted, NFUN. I'll keep an eye for it because even if not going for every bonus point, at least finishing all the quests I see is good.

Me when I just realized I did look at the old Bracer Notebook once, and now am realizing I can look at that notebook to go figure out who that Hardt dude was.

Escort Request. I knew I recognized his name. Found the answer. Also found the Three Brothers thing NFUN shared. I checked the first part just to see if I'd need it, I definitely had my issues, but I just looked for things of 3 and found it.

This last one's a bit odd though, I won't ask for a hint obviously since I haven't even started looking, but now I have two locations to set out to for next time. And both have monsters, so maybe I'll fight those in the process.

you can get Anton to talk to the girl by talking to them in the last game. it's how you get the last Carnelia. she calls him a creep and tells him to never talk to her again

I never actually saw her say that to him. I saw the scene, and obviously there's her comment to herself when she stops and is just like 'ugh, what a creep, keeps staring at me.' basically.

As for today, decided to stop by to say hi to Faye and automatically finished the search quest. Was a bit odd since I figured the answer was inside Kaldia Tunnel. Ah well.

And travelling through the tunnel, came across a pretty rough treasure chest battle. I said it in the first game, and I'll say it here. Confuse is literally worse than KO and it's stupid. I basically never fought Stove Plants here because of how stupid the status effect is. Confuse should be being unable to differentiate friend from foe, not literally see enemies as friends and friends as foes.

I've only ever seen them attack allies, even when an enemy is literally closer, they've walked over to an ally to attack them. At least in the first game, so I've avoided letting it be tried again.

Also just learned you have a chance to get an ingredient drop from running after and talking to chickens.

Oh god, I actually have done it. I had to load a previous save because I visited Elmo Village and managed to get between the two kids so perfectly that I couldn't get out.

Me either. It was just a funny case for me. I didn't lose much progress, just had to travel to Elmo Village again. Been a little inactive just because of a few things with friends and some Spring Cleaning stuff.

Oh right, also forgot to mention the other day that I saw on the map that there's a transition past Elmo Village now and I am hyped that in this game we'll get to go past that gate.

Decided to do a little more today, but not much to post about. Just had the Anelace meeting of Tita and I know someone who is basically Anelace. And hype for new area that I'm going to! Probably means I'm at the end of this chapter now too.

Ugh, the Worm fight was irritating. Had to use like half of my reviving balms thanks to not having a great ability to slow them down, and having 5 enemies be able to target everyone. Even literally had them having 4 turns in a row of using it to just KO two characters before having a chance to heal.

Of course, I've met the second Ouroboros dude and through it we get to learn about what Zin and Kilika's connection is other than just both being Easterners. But parts of it are cut off. Although I can only assume Walter is not Eastern by descent, or maybe half-Eastern at most. At least I finally finished Zeiss. Actual progress unlike this past week, we're truly back online.

At least it's not me just being bad, but being new that gives me trouble with those things. Although I do need to figure out how to give myself Earth Wall. Maybe once I'm buying Quartz in Grancel. That'll be good for when I have to fight more AoE/Party-wide attacks.

Also, everytime I watch cutscene battles it makes me wish for more out of real battles. The biggest weakness of this game's combat to me is the game is just JRPG combat on a tactical field, and it makes me wish it worked more like an TRPG where you could freely move as a free action before your attack, like some opponents (Karna and Kyle in particular) have done. I'm always wishing for more of that.

But as for actual plot happening, Amalthea sighting, and she wants to break Alan Richard out of Leiston. Wouldn't be the first prison break from the fortress, ahaha~. Considering the former Colonel's change in personality from the end of the first game, I doubt this will go the way she wants it to.

They definitely did AoE without me even attacking some of them. Like 3 of the Earth Shaker attacks were from guys with full HP. So it wasn't the case.

This is definitely not the case. Zin got confused and literally spent two turns running across the map to attack Estelle (he was next to the Penguin Boss on turn 1). Still literally a status effect worse than KO.

Either way, I'll leave a save here and just step on out, I'm sure there's some missing stuff, but I think it'd be better to not search every cranny right now. Back to Grancel.
