So while there is still a topic talking about fitness goals, I was curious if people had any comments or critiques on my normal gym routine so that I can adjust when my gyms eventually reopen.

I normally do a 5-day split that has an almost identical structure each day:
A heavy lift with descending reps: 3,3,2,2,1
A superset with 2 exercises at 4x10
2 cooldown exercises at 3x15

The order is legs, chest, rest, back, shoulders, arms, rest.

Legs: squat, press and leg curl, leg lift, heel rise
Chest: incline bench, dumbell press and fly, skullcrushers, seated fly
Back: weighted pullups, straight arm pulls and rows, shoulder rises, back seated fly
Shoulder: standing press, incline raise and upright barbell rows, front raises, cable pulls
Arms: preacher curls, curls and decline triceps lift, barbell curls, dips

I should be doing cardio or core on those rest days but I find that if I try and add any more to this I end up burning out on motivation.
I'd maybe throw something to target lower chest in there a little too. That may not be necessary for you though depending on what look you're going for. Most folks tend to focus on upper chest because they prefer that shelf look to their chest.

Also rear delts as were mentioned. You might actually be good on triceps. They're getting some work in on your chest day too.

Nice, thanks for the feedback. What would you recommend for lower chest? Is that just a decline press?

Yeah. if you're at home and dont have a decline press, you can bridge your back and push straight up to target lower chest.

Not as ideal as a decline press but gets the job done

It's tough having nothing to train for.

My friend and I were pushing for a sub 3hr run at the New York marathon but obviously everything has fallen through. Hopefully there's a few local runs that pop up later this year but for now I'm focusing on building mass again. I tend to lose about 10kg every vintage (peak winemaking season) through long hours and no breaks so it's nice to put the weight back on.

You've got quite a few options. Idk which is really best. Decline press, incline pushups, dips where you lean forward a bit all work pretty well. I prefer dips because you get to work on stabilizing muscles too which is always great. Although I feel like I get better isolation from the push ups/press.

There's a lot that comes into play though. Sometimes you'll be too tired from other exercises to really do them correctly. If that's the case the push ups are probably your best bet since it's easiest to isolate imo.

you can just make some handles to do pullups and hang them from a tree or deck. PVC pipe + rope

Resting heart rate: 80bpm
Morning weight: 254.0
Waist: 44 & 1/2 inches(down 1/4th inch)
Stomach: 46 & 1/4 inches(down half an inch)

Number on the scale isn't changing, in fact it went up. At least my measurements keep going down. I knew last week was way too good. So far this week I've gained .4lbs, and I've been eating very well and exercising despite the awful weather. I'm hesitant to add anymore volume, I was very interested in seeing the effects of low intensity exercise on the body. Resting heart rate is about the same, still in upper 70s low 80s range.

Weighing under 250lbs this week might not happen, it's looking like that will have to happen next week. It was something I was really looking forward to, I had done so well last week I thought the weight would continue melting off. I'll be lucky if I can hit 252lbs this week, God forbid the weight doesn't change at all I would be devasted.

Do you have a fair amount of lean mass? You mightve hit the wall where your body composition changes, but the scale doesnt move. Its more important to look in the mirror and check the tape than to watch the numbers.

I am feeling better than I was last week. I did a full-body workout on Monday and have given myself yesterday and today for resting. I am lifting full-body again tomorrow and again Saturday, thus reverting back to my every three days policy. I feel way less burnt out compared to the four to five days in a row of isolated body area routines.

I've never even tried a split, just sounds way too taxing. What made you switch in the first place if I may ask?

Im just speaking from my own experiences. After I got to a certain point I was losing muscle mass for the sake of chasing that elusive scale number. As a result I lost a lot of strength and looked and like shit. And I got stuck where the number didnt go down. So in my experiences, the scale ends up being detrimental to ones weight loss journey.

Are you exercising and on a caloric deficit? If you are you might want to consider upping your calories significantly, mostly increasing protein and fat and keeping carb calories the same.
