Just a fanbase meme and joking for the most part, but uh, as someone who actually did quit very recently after playing since release: The gacha rates are truly abhorrent and generally inexcusable Starting a couple of years into the game's life is pretty rough seeing as you've already straight up missed a lot of side-story events and freebies including powerful, unique servants that are regularly part of optimal/efficient play. (Apparently the JP server, which is exactly two years ahead of us, is only now starting to address this issue.) If you have any interest in the Fate series, this game casually spoils literally every game, anime, novel, manga, etc in the franchise and relies on them more heavily than earlier posts implied for the full experience. This is part and parcel with Japanese mobage in general, but events are very grindy and getting the most out of them typically boils down to finding a way to do them in 1-3 turns and just doing the same play over and over and over and over for a week or two straight with your entire stamina bar if not more. Basically there's no risk or thought involved beyond your first successful clear and you're just wasting time. Big problems are: The main storyline is enjoyable but takes a long time to actually start getting good The events are repetitive grind fests, generally, if you want the good stuff. Again, if you have the time the rewards cycle can make this enjoyable. If not, you may be frustrated cause you can't get everything. If you're just playing the events for the story it can be okay. I don't think the Gacha is a problem with it at all-- just realize you're not going to get (or need) most 5* servants so don't stretch yourself thin and hoard up and splurge on the ones you really want. --- No problem!
