It has had many posters - thousands - and hundreds of those were considered regulars. or semi-regulars. Of course, some posters stuck out more than others. Sometimes, this was for good reasons, sometimes, it was for very bad reasons. This is the difference between famous and infamous. We've had people who were funny, strange, annoying, rage-inducing, intelligent, obsessive, and entertaining. I, Sunhawk, have decided to compile a list of the 30 most memorable posters we have ever seen, into the Current Events Hall of Fame. Various biographical information will be given. Their main username, a numbered code, the approximate time period they posted during (although some of these users are still active), and their main alternate account or identity. Each of these people was or is a real character, larger than life, in some way. Some are remembered fondly. some are remembered with strong dislike - and some aren't really remembered at all. Times change. Most of these users in the Current Events Hall of Fame are male, although some are female, and many of the women made the strongest mark of all. Most, now, are in their thirties. People have grown up (for the most part). Also note that the order people are listed in is NOT an order of how memorable or important they were. The order is largely random. So, without further ado, on with the list. Did YOU make the cut? User - mrduckbear ID - 01 Active period - 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s Main alternate - Full Throttle The legendary, extremely durable, possibly infamous, duckbear. This poster has been around since the early days of the board. He has been known for a number of things. His Buddhist religion, arguing constantly with people, his obsessive love of animals (especially creepy crawlies), posting tabloid-style clickbait topics, and making YouTube videos. This has certainly been an entertaining user over the years. He used to engage with people, but now largely makes a topic, and never returns. He has the dubious honour of his previous main account, mrduckbear3, being banned on three occasions - the third being final. Has generally had more enemies than friends over the years, but has never stopped being well-known on this board. User - The Admiral ID - 02 Active period - 2010s Main alternate - none This user certainly went through a big development arc. From humble beginnings as unknown user, to respected moderator, to a regular user who trolled almost constantly, and eventually, a man who was banned. Quite the journey. Ironically, it wasn't The Admiral's tenure as staffmember for the boards that made him most well-known, but rather, the constant moderations which took an awfully long time to get him kicked off the board. User - Bluemonk ID - 03 Active period - 2010s, 2020s Alternate - TheBlueMonk This user is known for one thing, and one thing only - his obsession with South Korea. Nobody knows quite how this obsession started, but EVERYONE knows about it. Bluemonk is largely fixated on the band Girls' Generation, also known as SNSD, but to a lesser extent, beautiful South Korean girls, and the culture and history of the same country. User - Kritikal ID - 04 Active period - early to mid 2000s Alternate - Faster Kritikal was one of the early regulars on CE. He was generally considered a cool and interesting guy, who would sometimes leap to the defence of friends in times of trouble, but more than anything, he was known as a very gifted CounterStrike gamer. When the board got together to play on their CS server, the infamous ISH, Kritikal almost always won the matches. For a long time, people wanted him removed from the server, for being "too good", and this led to many arguments and a few bitter fights, but in the end, he was allowed to remain. Kritikal last posted at some point in the mid 2000s, and it is unknown was has become of him. A good poster. User - BigNutsIsBack ID - 05 Active period - late 2010s - 2020s Alternate - none He is a reasonably popular user, who posts regularly on the board. Known for a his intelligent and interesting topics and posts, BigNutzIsBack seems to have very few enemies on Current Events. Unlike many people, he hardly ever trolls or starts arguments. --- It has been 0 days since something interesting happened. His intense love of music, unparalled before or since, certainly made him well-remembered. He listened to plenty of music, and had an encyclopediac knowledge of the art form. The problem was, he argued constantly with people about music. When he made a topic, it was fairly common for the topic to get over 200 posts. Large fights would go on for literally days. Having said THAT - nobody could claim he didn't know music. User - TimeBomb ID - 07 Active period - 2000s Alternate - RhymeBomb Timebomb, posting many years ago, was like the original version of The Admiral. He got moderated almost constantly, with various 3KLs and 10KLs. This went on for a long time. The strange thing was, TimeBomb seemed immune to banning. This was a running joke. His highest karma was just over 1,000, but, due to the relentless infringements against the ToS, he ended up down to around 300 karma. Eventually, the site had put up with enough of this, and TimeBomb was banned. User - chickenboy ID - 08 Active period - 2000s Alternate - chickengirl A very early poster on CE, chickenboy tended to rile people up. It wasn't that he was unpopular - just liked to argue sometimes. His most well-known quality was probably being part of the so-called 4 horsemen, along with technocloak, Marvo, and Narcoleptic Monkey. chickenboy was slightly older than most CE regulars at the time, and combined with being married, eventually faded from the board, and then was gone completely. Lives on in some memories. User - CableZL ID - 09 Period active - 2000s, 2010s, 2020 Alternate - unknown One of the longer running posters on CE, with at least 15 years under his belt. Not as much of a larger than life figure that many in the Hall of Fame, but certainly a nice guy, intelligent, and gets along with people, all of which have helped him be one of the lynchpins of this board. User - DevsBro ID - 10 Period active - 2010s, 2020s Alternate - none DevsBro is a current poster, and considered a nice person. Never appears to troll, flame, or stire up trouble. Christian, and takes religion seriously. Popular with most posters. User - Doodleheimer ID - 11 Period active - 2000s, early 2010s Alternate - none Doodleheimer is one of the most infamous users in the Hall of Fame. Although he is long gone, and many posters would either not remember him or started posting after he left, the oldest posters will certainly know who he is. Doodle - as he was sometimes known - would frequently argue with other people, usually taking the factually wrong side of the argument. He was generally not known for intelligent posts. He had running feuds with many other regulars. For a while, he had a dynamic sig, which he almost always forget to fill in. In terms of unpopularity and resentment, on many occasions he was lumped together with mrduckbear and XSquader. Despite all of this, he was still a regular on the board, as important as anyone, and you couldn't say his name without people recognising it. After leaving CE, at some point in the early 2010s, he generally disappeared - fate unknown. User - pojr ID - 12 Period active - 2010s, 2020s Alternate - unknown Tends to post stuff about his life, and is known to engage with various other posters, as opposed to making a topic and then ignoring it. Most famous for having a name that people love to spell upon a pojr sighting, p-o-j-r. Quite popular. User - CJayC ID - 13 Period active - early to mid 2000s Alternate - none CJayC - much more than just a CE regular, back in the day. He was also the creator of GameFAQs, creator of the message boards, creator of Current Events itself, and the original administator of the site. Surprisingly, for someone who ran a massive website, he was still a fairly frequent poster on one of its most famous social boards - CE. Often grouchy, although anyone would be if they had to run this site. Posted about various things, both site-related and more personal. Was married to Shadotak, who also was an administator, although who rarely appeared to get involved, and presumably had children, although never mentioned any. Loved video games as much as anyone here. Probably the most famous thing CJayC ever did - apart from create and run the site - was the 2002 radio interview, which was an extremely rare chance to hear his voice, and call him and ask questions. Had a long running problem with a few posters, much notable XSquader. Eventually sold the website and disappeared into obscurity, living a quiet live in Texas out of the public eye - and I think this was the happiest thing he ever did. Gone, but certainly not forgotten. User - stupidness_blah ID - 14 Period active - mid 2000s to mid 2010s Alternate - strawberry stupidness_blah went on to become one of the infamous female posters. Things started off fine, with her making relatively normal posters and engaging with the other regulars on the board, but by some point in either 2007 or 2008, her behaviour turned into constantly trying to get attention. She shared various revealing pictures of herself, the main ones being a topless photograph, and a reverse bottomless photograph, which, of course, got leaked onto CE. Slightly later, she argued constantly with various people on the board, her topics frequently getting over 50 or 100 posts. The problem was, despite the fact that a substantial number of people wanted her off the board, she probably stayed because they provided her with what she wanted - attention. Quite a few posters like her, however, and came to her defense. One of the biggest sources of unwarranted bullying came from her appearance, which although generally very attractive, included a large forehead. Eventually, she scaled back her posting on Current Events, presumably from the constant harassment and trolling from her detractors, and then, by about mid 2010s, she apparently departed altogether. People who stayed in contact with her informed the board, at some point, that she was now married and had a computer-based career, which means she - probably - had the last laugh. User - Godnorgosh ID - 15 Period active - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - unknown Godnorgosh does not have any "extremely" qualities, like so many CE regulars and semi-regulars over the years, but he is generally considered to be thoughtful, interesting, and pleasant. These are good things, but the main reason for his inclusion in the Hall of Fame is because of his extremely lon <cite>Sunhawk posted [p:936997540] in Introducin... He was a poster that underwent radical personality transformations as he grew older. Originally, he was a very nice guy, who appeared to get excellent grades at school, get on well with real-life friends, do what his parents wanted, etc. but by his later teenager years, had grown to be brooding, aggressive, and at one point, even suicidal. He was also very well known for his massive number of alternate accounts, which peaked at over 150. He left the board at some point in the 2000s, although CE lost track of him after that. User - SArmstr0ng ID - 17 Period active - mid 2000s - late 2010s Alternate - none SArmstr0ng was certainly one of the more popular posters, during his tenure. He made interesting posts, had a playful sense of humour, and was one of the few non-white posters on the board. Really liked music, video games, and TV. Occasionally trolled, but not at all often. He was mixed race, and sometimes spoke of having a "white mode" and "black mode", depending on his mood. Eventually drifted away from CE in the last 2010s, for reasons unknown. His account is still believed to be active, so he may one day return - if we are lucky. User - Sunhawk ID - 18 Time period - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - MeIon Bread Another of the longest posting regulars on CE. Sunhawk is well-known for his love of video games, films, and literature - and also his pretentiousness. One of the few British posters remaining on CE. He also has a reputation for his NEETness, although has actually worked a number of jobs, mostly some time ago. Had recieved various nicknames over the years, such as SnuSnu, and Snuhawk. Has been through various shifts in his popularity on CE, ranging from very popular in the early 2000s, medium popularity, and low popularity (which is common). Sunhawk's track record, when it comes to obeying the ToS, is reasonably good, although far from perfect. Mentioning his name usually provokes a response from other users. User - Kassie_Plx ID - 19 Period active - mid 2000s - early 2010s Alternate - none Kassie_Plx was another of the infamous female posters. It is true that she wanted - or needed - frequent attention, but she was often bullied and trolled for stupid reasons. She posted very regularly, most days. At some point, her ex-boyfriend leaked a pornographic video of her was leaked onto the internet, which was then, naturally, linked to by various people on Current Events, and eventually, several months later, used to dox her at Brown University. Was also known by an unflattering nickname. Kassie was also sometimes confused with stupidness_blah, because the latter's real name was Cassie. Eventually, some time later, Kassie was intelligent enough to escape from CE, and her various tormentors on the board, and over time got her undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree, and now has a successful career in cognitive neuroscience. She is well-remembered by some of the slightly older posters on CE, but she probably doesn't find herself thinking about CE much - a wise move. User - JediKnight ID - 20 Period active - late 2000s Alternate - unknown The wildcard of the Hall of Fame. Unlike every other person listed, he didn't need years, or more than a decade to make his mark. He turned up on CE, posted extremely briefly, then disappeared. Of course, the reason for his inclusion in the Hall of Fame, is due to the legendary topic he made - saying he was going to burn down a church, and then, later that week, doing so. Thankfully, there was no loss of life, and JediKnight spent 4 months in a mental facility before being released. User - pinky ID - 21 Active period - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - none Much like DKx6 and BlueMonk, this is a user who is essentially known for just one thing - in this case, his sex life. Has frequently bragged about having hundreds of sexual partners, half a dozen FWBs at any given time, and having slept with up to 3 girls a day. For many years, this was basically all he talked about, and, because most posters on CE haven't had much luck with the "fairer sex", they were fascinated. Has been engaged twice, but neither resulted in marriage. Lives in the Greater Glasgow area. User - THE dark ID - 22 Active period - mid 2000s - late 2000s Alternate - unknown A regular poster who lived in a Middle Eastern country. Claim to fame was being obsessed with a woman who studied at the same university as him. Posted literally dozens of topics on the subject, talking about how in love with her he was, noting various things about her personal life and social circle, but forever being too afraid to actually speak to her, or, really, make any kind of romantic move at all. After 2 or 3 years on CE, posting almost daily, left the board for reasons unknown. Nobody stayed in touch with him, so no further details are known. User - CyricZ ID - 23 Period active - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - none This user, one of the most ancient on CE, is best known for his attempts to get laid. He had also been a senior moderator, a well-known anime fan, a gamer, and computer sector worker. Cyric spent his twenties trying to lose his virginity, and some of his thirties, and finally succeeded. As one might imagine, this long-running problem with women was a frequent source of discussion, and Cyric has become a polarising figure. Generall speaking, back in the 2000s and the early 2010s, he was more disliked than liked, and the butt of MANY jokes; by the mid 2000s, and later, he was more liked than disliked, and trolling of him was frowned upon. Cyric is still a reasonably active poster on CE, but is more of a semi-regular than a regular now. User - FlawlessLee ID - 24 Period active - late 2000s - mid 2010s Alternate - SubparToaster A female CE regular that was mostly disliked - but rarely ignored. It is unclear how she first came to post on the board, but she quickly became notorious for various obnoxious posters she made. She talked about her modelling, her extreme thiness, her training to be a hairdresser, and her legendary sexual appetite, rivaled only by pinky's. People often spoke to her, with topics that sometimes got pass the 200 post mark. Some liked her, however, and she was a regular for a few years, before departing for unknown reasons. Is presumably a fully qualified hairdresser now. User - Padgoi ID - 25 Period active - mid 2000s - early 2010s Alternate - unknown Padgoi was a user <cite>Sunhawk posted [p:936997560] in Introducin... It is true that she wanted - or needed - frequent attention, but she was often bullied and trolled for stupid reasons. She posted very regularly, most days. At some point, her ex-boyfriend leaked a pornographic video of her was leaked onto the internet, which was then, naturally, linked to by various people on Current Events, and eventually, several months later, used to dox her at Brown University. Was also known by an unflattering nickname. Kassie was also sometimes confused with stupidness_blah, because the latter's real name was Cassie. Eventually, some time later, Kassie was intelligent enough to escape from CE, and her various tormentors on the board, and over time got her undergraduate degree and postgraduate degree, and now has a successful career in cognitive neuroscience. She is well-remembered by some of the slightly older posters on CE, but she probably doesn't find herself thinking about CE much - a wise move. User - JediKnight ID - 20 Period active - late 2000s Alternate - unknown The wildcard of the Hall of Fame. Unlike every other person listed, he didn't need years, or more than a decade to make his mark. He turned up on CE, posted extremely briefly, then disappeared. Of course, the reason for his inclusion in the Hall of Fame, is due to the legendary topic he made - saying he was going to burn down a church, and then, later that week, doing so. Thankfully, there was no loss of life, and JediKnight spent 4 months in a mental facility before being released. User - pinky ID - 21 Active period - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - none Much like DKx6 and BlueMonk, this is a user who is essentially known for just one thing - in this case, his sex life. Has frequently bragged about having hundreds of sexual partners, half a dozen FWBs at any given time, and having slept with up to 3 girls a day. For many years, this was basically all he talked about, and, because most posters on CE haven't had much luck with the "fairer sex", they were fascinated. Has been engaged twice, but neither resulted in marriage. Lives in the Greater Glasgow area. User - THE dark ID - 22 Active period - mid 2000s - late 2000s Alternate - unknown A regular poster who lived in a Middle Eastern country. Claim to fame was being obsessed with a woman who studied at the same university as him. Posted literally dozens of topics on the subject, talking about how in love with her he was, noting various things about her personal life and social circle, but forever being too afraid to actually speak to her, or, really, make any kind of romantic move at all. After 2 or 3 years on CE, posting almost daily, left the board for reasons unknown. Nobody stayed in touch with him, so no further details are known. User - CyricZ ID - 23 Period active - 2000s, 2010s, 2020s Alternate - none This user, one of the most ancient on CE, is best known for his attempts to get laid. He had also been a senior moderator, a well-known anime fan, a gamer, and computer sector worker. Cyric spent his twenties trying to lose his virginity, and some of his thirties, and finally succeeded. As one might imagine, this long-running problem with women was a frequent source of discussion, and Cyric has become a polarising figure. Generall speaking, back in the 2000s and the early 2010s, he was more disliked than liked, and the butt of MANY jokes; by the mid 2000s, and later, he was more liked than disliked, and trolling of him was frowned upon. Cyric is still a reasonably active poster on CE, but is more of a semi-regular than a regular now. User - FlawlessLee ID - 24 Period active - late 2000s - mid 2010s Alternate - SubparToaster A female CE regular that was mostly disliked - but rarely ignored. It is unclear how she first came to post on the board, but she quickly became notorious for various obnoxious posters she made. She talked about her modelling, her extreme thiness, her training to be a hairdresser, and her legendary sexual appetite, rivaled only by pinky's. People often spoke to her, with topics that sometimes got pass the 200 post mark. Some liked her, however, and she was a regular for a few years, before departing for unknown reasons.
