Trump also went weeks downplaying the threat, so most americans believe this is no big deal. Its not that they believe its a hoax but they just think its no big deal, if they get it then whup dee doo, maybe get hospitalized, but they probably won't die. The last few days the weather has been great in Lousiana so my wife and I have been going out for walks. We met this young professional couple, we stayed about 10 feet apart, chatted, they were chill. Yesterday met this redneck looking guy who wanted to shake our hands. He invited us over to play cornhole, says he's got a bunch of neighbors coming over, he's gonna grill, have some beers. I'm like breh are you serious. And this place has the fastest growing rate of new cases in the entire world. Again, people sitting at home don't fully comprehend how bad it is because they don't see it infront of their eyes. They just hear from the news, but because they're fine and everyone they know is fine, they doubt the media, particularly when the white house is telling us this is no big deal and that the media is blowing it up. And perhaps it couldn't have been prevented altogether, but certainly we could've had an intensified response from the beginning that allows us to identify and aggressively contact trace, and test some more. Trump had all the intel in the world very early on when there were no cases. I could also go on and on with specific details on how he has continued to botch the whole process even after it slapped him in the face.
