I figure most people have played this game and can answer without me going to the CT board.

So, even though I love JRPGs and have played a few I never got around to Chrono Trigger so I decided to boot it up on PS1. Big mistake, the port is garbage. So after 30 minutes of suffering I whipped out my DS copy (also never played) and started the adventure anew.

My game time is right about 11 hours and I just beat the Reptite queen (king?) and have found myself in 12,000 BC. How close am I to finishing this game? Its been great so far.

Oh, I don't plan to do any of the character's sidequests really, just stick to the main story. However I do know that a certain character dies and you can revive this character which I plan to do.

The mobile port is the version I played a month or so ago and was shockingly well done. I hadn't played it before, but had no issues and it is fairly cheap.

The character side quests are actually pretty good and the game would have probably felt a little short by modern standards without them.

With them it stood up fairly well compared to modern games, and it blew me away how ahead of it's time the game was.

Probably about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through, by my estimation.

And yes, Azala is a queen. You'd be amazed how many people don't pick up on that.

I think you are about halfway. I played that game many times, and I liked the sidequests, too.

Well it depends on which ending your going for because you could get a legit ending right now if you go fight lavos now. I think chronotrigger held the record for the most endings for a while

Also I got a dvd called the mangler. I think lucca would like it

Counting the non-DS-version sidequests you might be halfway or slightly less. Discounting all sidequests, you might be closer to two-thirds or three-fifths. Include all sidequests, including the long bonus dungeon and multi-parted rift dungeons from the DS version, and you are about a quarter of the way there.
