She has an immunocompromised immune system and has been working at home for the past two weeks. Her boss might want her to come in monday, defying the state's shelter at place (or whatever it's called) order.

She is absolutely not essential. It's marketing for an insurance company. She's been working at home (more productive than at the office she says) so it's obviously not essential.

What can she do?

Otherwise he can go fuck himself, and if possible get proof that her boss is trying to defy state orders.

Tell her boss that she's "Immuno compromised" and can't go in. She'll remain at home.

Any work that he wants her to do, he can drop off at her mail box.

Not even remotely essential. But for poops and giggles I checked Minnesota's list and sure enough, "insurance marketing" isn't there. *shocked pikachu face*

However Minnesota is an at-will employment state, so can't they just fire her and say she wasn't doing her job? (which she is)

I'd contact an employment lawyer because at will states still have rules for justifying termination and they could be held liable in civil court (IE lawsuit). Most law offices will let you call and ask "hey this is the situation, what do you think" without charging you.

100% best thing to do is to have an attorney anonymously call the business and threaten action at this point. Did it at my job (office job). Was able to work from home for a week and a half until the business had to close and furlough all of us due to lack of business (vacation company, had nothing to do with us working from home) and at the end of the day I think it was the right choice.

You can call the labor board or the governor's office or whatever but I'm sure not shit will happen.

I find it quite odd the boss is demanding her to come in after already successfully working from home AND after the government extended guidelines until the end of April. I work for a company with well over 1,000 employees, and pretty much everyone is working from home except "essential employees" needed to physically do something infrastructure/technology related most likely.

Does the company have guidance issued already? This just isn't making much sense. How at risk of getting fired is she if she disobeys commands? Because she has a whole host of ammunition right now, given the circumstances, the government guidelines, and her health.

I don't know how Minnesota's doing it but in Maryland if your business doesn't fall into the "essential business" list and you're trying to continue work as usual you're going to be f'd in the a by the authorities. They're responding to calls left and right.
