Dailymail has revealed that though blue states are suffering the highest number of coronavirus outbreak, a new graph shows it is increasing at rapid rates in TRUMP STATES!!

9 out of the 10 states that reported the largest percentage increases in COVID-19 cases voted for Trump in 2016

Texas clocked in a whopping 256% increase making it the fastest growing increase in COVID-19 diagnosis

West Virginia, that was famously the last US state to report a confirmed case saw a huge increase by 219% though the state said they did not have any test kits at the time to confirm any cases

Conversely, Washington, the first state to report a case saw a small increase in numbers recently with only 29%

At might appear obvious that red states would now be clocking bigger increases as they had smaller base numbers to begin with but experts says that the more people there are with COVID-19 in ech state, the quicker the increase there given the highly contagious disease that can pass it on between 1 and 3 other people

It's possible that the social distancing measures and partial lockdowns implemented in blue states are working.

For example, Washington enacted such forceful measures like the one used in China and are seeing better numbers because of it as many red states have not implemented such shutdowns and letting the virus spread

Blue states still have the number of virus cases with New York leading the way next to New Jersey and California since they have large populations and tourist destinations as data shows they are testing more aggressively compared to red states which are slow to react

I could have seen this coming two months ago. I could have seen the states or Trump's counties/regions of Clinton's states blowing off warnings, calling them fake, and the illness growing per capita compared to the other states or regions now trying to contain this thing. I could have seen the lockdowns and curfews taking longer than should be necessary beyond this point, and people will continue to throw parties or crowd places they ought not to, risking a spread of the virus, because of a similar mentality we see in MMOs where people just stand in the fire for days.

I'd have generally like it if Trump's avid followers got together and built a wall around themselves for a few weeks or more, but this virus thing is making me rethink what might be appropriate. Meanwhile, this is going to get worse before it can get better.

I guess it's better to skip over the fact the states with the most cases weren't won by him, not that it makes even the slightest difference. Just awful people being terrible, trying to put a political spin on this. And why? They have nothing to do with each other.

People are funny. News tells them what to do. Wont do it. But I went to a gas station today and they had tape on the floor spaced out with instructions written on it like "first in line stand here" and so on. People followed it.

My dad is a weird one. He'll complain the government isn't doing enough and go on and on about people dying from it but then claims the 2 meter social distancing thing won't do anything and continues to leave the house, being around other people and doing whatever he possibly can. He also thinks the measures put in place in the shops are dumb and that he won't catch anything travelling from our home to wherever he's going and being around whoever he is.

He's had a heart attack before and he's 65 so no Spring chicken. I wouldn't normally care what he does but unfortunately I live in the same house as him so he's putting me at risk with the way he's acting. All I can say is I hope he gets fined or something because then maybe he'll get his head from out of his own backside.

Yea, this. Plus NY and Cali have the highest amounts. And I live in Georgia which has a ton of cases,and is a Trump won state, but the cities hit the hardest (Atlanta and Albany) definitely did not vote Trump.

I'd say common curiosity stuff like covering up your nose/mouth when sneezing/coughing whether into your elbows or something else and not into your hands or into the general vicinity might go further to limiting the spread than maintaining six feet distance.

If I can understand the issue right, the spread is purely physical by coming into contact with a surface that has the virus or the droplets in the air from someone's sneeze/cough. That six feet distancing might not do much if someone touches an infected surface and does not wash their hands later before eating something or walk through an area that someone sneezed/coughed into.

Well it's also in place because even talking to someone does put small bits of spit out there that are not able to be seen by the human eye but can easily contain Covid-19 if the person has it. 6 feet away helps limit that problem... Yes blocking coughs+sneezes matters also but even a bit of that micro sized spit getting on you can be enough to get it.

Was just reading an article from a reporter inside Italy and from what he says they started telling people to stay inside and isolate even before there were many cases identified and only 2 deaths.

I always though Italy dropped the ball and let things get out of control, but it's actually sounding like they did a way better job then we have been doing so far. I mean, my roomates just had a freaking birthday party upstairs yesterday. They invited me up for cake and pie (which was nice, but no, I didn't go).

People are still driving around like normal, food is being delivered (not groceries, pizza etc), and tons of people are still going to work as well (for jobs nobody would think was emergency jobs).

This is in Tacoma WA but yeah, a ton of people are still laughing this thing off.

If you're discussing which states are the fastest growing, yes. Absolute numbers don't really matter in looking at that statistic. This measure is useful for indicating which areas are going to become problems if nothing is done to slow that growth down, and the clear political bias in the statistics suggests that some of those problems are going to be political/cultural in nature (namely, their God Emperor told them it was a hoax so they're adamantly refusing to do anything to stop it).

First it hit population centers, common sense.

Then it is hitting the states where people believe it is a hoax after everyone else takes steps to deal with it.

As someone who lives in a very Trump favored state people don't believe it. I see the pictures of other cities having empty interstates and stuff. Not happening here. People are still trying to go out for stupid stuff, even telling me at times while they buy something completely unimportant "if I get sick I'll probably die"

It's a mix of trump and Clinton won states where this is exploding honestly. Looking at the data I don't see that much of a difference between the numbers of trump versus Clinton states
