Can no longer sleep in sister's car, she's too freaked out at the idea of her landlord finding out and evicting her over it. She's freaking out in general about how 2 of her roommates bailed and left her stuck with a large bill next month (no idea if roommate #3 won't do the same).

Might be able to sleep in nearby park. No anti-loitering signs, but there's anti-camping ones. I would hope lying down on a bench covered in a poncho to stay dry doesn't count as camping.

Am still allowed for now to come over and eat the food me and my brother bought with the last of our food stamps (minus the food we bought specifically for her and her boyfriend of course).

Can charge phones for now while we eat, must leave immediately after though.

Wonky xfinity hotspot at bus stop a few streets away, no idea if/when I might get shooed away or if/when it drops out for whatever reason.

Incidentally, buses may no longer be running, so me and my brother might be stranded in current location whether we want to be or not.

I assume she's afraid she'll get in trouble for letting us "squat" or something, or that April's bill will be even higher if me and my brother are allowed to stay inside for more than an hour.

Just apply at grocery stores, tell your sister you're getting a job soon and will help with the rent. Problem solved.

You should have no problem staying at her apartment dude. An apartment can makeup whatever policy they want. But if youre staying there, youre establishing your residency there and no agency is really doing evictions right now

IDK about you guys, but I always just did whatever the fuck i wanted at whatever rental property my friends or was on the lease personally for (own a house now), unless she has an overly nosy landlord or you guys are just shit heads that fuck stuff up all the time like punching holes in walls and doors and shit it shouldn't be a problem...

I need an address to give them, and my sister has been pretty hesitant to let me use her's. Ironically, she lives almost right next door to an Albertson's that may be "urgently hiring" but no matter how desperate an employer is in Eugene, the majority of them refuse to hire the homeless. Too many bad apples spoiled it for the rest of us.

Don't ever tell an employer you're homeless. On your application, use your sister's address, a PO box (I realize these are hard to get these days), your grandparents' house, or whatever. Come to your interview showered. Make them think you're a regular dude.

Apparently he's applied to everything but still gets rejected.

Also, tc, why didn't you respond to the offers other users made in the last topic?

To be fair, I haven't tried applying since the outbreak (I assumed everywhere was shutting down/laying off), but I keep hearing a lot of places are short-handed, this is literally my best chance to get my foot in the door for the first time in my life, but being homeless still presents a huge barrier even during the crisis because everyone assumes you're filthy, a thief, or dangerous. My sister flipping out and being uncooperative when I am literally trying to help her, mine, and my brother's situation makes no goddamn sense, it's like there's something else she's not telling me. (Which by extension makes it sound like I'm not telling you people everything when I'm being as dead serious and honest as text can convey.)

I haven't taken any offers to receive money because I have no place to receive it. I can't get a PO box, and I don't think my sister would appreciate me giving her's.

...But at this point, if she's going to be a obstacle instead of a cohort in fixing this mess, I may just go over her head and use it anyway, at least for the job applications.

Bloody hell, hopefully that resolves some things.

My sister's panic over the landlord has been smoothed over somewhat by roommate #3 because it turns out he's the landlord's friggin' nephew. (I didn't know this before, but my sister did and didn't feel the need to tell me.)

Anyway, said nephew seems to be quite understanding/sympathetic of me and my brother's situation and even he was kind of "Andra, chill, this isn't as bad as you think". Hell, compared to the previous roommates, me and my brother have been model guests, and he's aware of my attempts to find employment so it's not like I'm being some free-loading bum. He also reminded me of something I had completely forgotten about; Plasma donations. Literally $400 a month and all I need is a valid address (so that's *two* things it helps with). He doesn't carea if I use the address here, so my sister has stopped worrying about me using it too.

Buses may not be shut down completely after all, it's just that they're in the middle of a schedule overhaul and it impacted a lot of buses today (and might be the case every Sunday as far as I know).

Currently using the attic bedroom to sleep in, will be hitting the post office for a change of address form and that Albertson's and any other goddamn store I can find first thing tomorrow, delivery gigs might be possible assuming they're within walking distance (I can't drive, no bike, and buses are not 100% reliable right now).

this.

stretch the truth.

You slept at your sister's house in the past 30 days? then put that address. they aren't going to mail you anything.

Embellish your talents for your resume.

then show up showered and clean for the interview. Once hired, no one will give a shit that you are homeless.

I dunno why your sis is so paranoid, landlords dont give a fuck who is staying there 99% of the time as long as they get their money. Let alone sleeping in the car outside. As was said, just dont tell people youre homeless. Sis needs to chill tbh. Youre on the fuckin street. I lived out my car for 3 months last year, just get a job asap and save. You can do it.

Landlord apparently knew this whole time that me and my brother (and my sister's boyfriend) were here for days now because of a hidden camera by the front door.

Lease violations for my sister and roommate #3 arrived today due to "over-extended guests". The landlord delivered them in person even, gave zero fucks about the reason me and my brother were there, and unknown to me, had already warned my sister before about her boyfriend's Iong stays.

Sister completely lost her shit, brother and me are now forbidden from coming back for any reason, even the food we bought. Despite the fact said violation also includes her boyfriend's long stays (this is her second warning remember now), she still plans on sneaking him in the back because she assumes there's no cameras there.

Down $20 because we had given her one to get cleaning supplies/toilet paper yesterday.

Can't use her address, she'll just throw away anything that comes in my name now.

Jesus fucking Christ, just kill me now, I can't take this anymore.

Is your sister paying all of the rent for the household?

I'd ask him whether he thinks health officials/police would agree with him restricting you from staying during this pandemic. As opposed to, you know, being able to self-isolate.

have to go through them to add/remove roommates (background check/credit check) standard procedure.

otherwise there's a limit how long they can stay before it violates the lease.

Seems pointless when there's already a signed lease. They have the tenant to sue if shit gets weird, and that tenant was presumably already background checked so it's unlikely they're bringing in random seedy folk. Landlord just on a power trip with that lease.

It's likely a liability issue. They don't want some random bozos in who haven't been properly processed and vetted. They don't know what kind of shady shit some random guys he doesn't know might be doing in this apartment they aren't even on the lease for.

That's not how that works, unless they're also banning all guests period. If there's already a tenant who signed the lease and agreed to take care of the property, it doesn't matter who they invite in. If the property gets fucked up on the tenants watch, he'll be liable for it. I've never had a guest banning provision in any of the leases I signed.

She and the remaining roommate are going to be stiffed with paying for 4 people because the other 2 bailed and have no intention of paying for their last month.

Fuck, one of the shitheads left messes all over the place that me and my brother helped our sister and roommate #3 clean up, but it didn't count for shit, additional clean up costs may still be forth-coming.

Health officials/cops probably won't give a fuck, Eugene seems to be infamous for having a homeless problem that nobody wants to fix.

Grand irony; The library I'm at is right across the street from my former student dorm. I'm sitting under an awning trying to stay dry, literally feet away from a place with large vacancies due to so many students checking out with campuses closed.
