I took a bunch of pictures to show friends before the proposal. I decided to hide these pictures in case my gf needed to go into my phone for something. I had the great idea to hide them in a folder entitled "dick pics" because no one would ever snoop in there. I used a picture of my thumb in my lap as the preview image for an added layer of protection. A couple weeks later I was working out and taking some progress pictures in the bedroom mirror. My gf was laying down for a nap at the time. While I was looking at pictures she asked about my dick pic folder that she noticed. All of the sudden it was like time froze and I immediately saw the opportunity to create an awesome engagement story. My first step was to tell her "Dont worry about it" and awkwardly leave the room. Surprisingly, she asked zero follow up questions. About a week later, my ring was done so I got to pick it up. I then spent an additional week being super weird to my gf. Like, I was really attentive and patient. At one point we went shopping for shoes and we legit spent 3 hours for her to buy a new pair of tennis shoes that looked just like her old pair but clean. Normally, I would have been noticeably impatient but instead I was super relaxed. One day, we went to get some take out for lunch. When we came back in she went to get the food out while I hid the ring under the coffee table. I started purposefully acting really nervous until she asked what was wrong. I started to bring up the dick pic folder and channeled all of my nervous energy into tears. I told her that I had been showing the pictures to one of my friends and that I didnt want to lie to her anymore. She told me that she didnt care as long as we weren't actually doing anything. In retrospect, wtf. Anyway, I then took out my phone and she saud she didnt want to see but I told her that she needed to. Then I showed her the pictures, took out the ring and proposed like a relatively normal person.
