It's been over two weeks for me without any person to person interaction, or going out other than to shop. It was getting to me,
but yesterday was a good day over all. Had a nice many hour zoom session of Rick and Morty DnD with friends and that helped
AND I got to talk to an uncle I have not been in contact with much for a few hours as well!!!!

I grabbed on of those nice chuck roasts out of the freezer yesterday to defrost for today as well, so yummy meal coming up later!!
Best of all, I finally fixed my horrible sleep schedule, waking up at 8 am (and crashing about midnight last night!!).

Woke up whistling (or my approximation of it) and almost dancing today, so maybe I have turned a corner and am becoming used
to isolation. I have not named any of my objects Wilson yet, nor am I talking to myself, so I think I'm still mostly sane.

How many days have you all been in isolation so far, and is it getting to you at all? Have you pushed through some kinda barrier
and come out the other side more positive? Do you have any plans if this goes on for more than another week or two?

I guess it is going on 2 weeks? I am fine. I am used to this. Last night I laid on our screened in porch with the outside TV on a music station while playing animal crossing. I have made my menu through April. I don't need much from town. Right now I am on the screened in porch listening to music while my husband gets the pool ready to open for the summer. I haven't seen anybody outside the family since I ran to the pharmacy drive thru last week. That is fine. I am happy. I am used to it. I grew up in a rural area pretty far from other houses. I still live on the same family property but you have to drive a pretty long ways, up a dirt road on a mountain and through cow pastures. I feel bad for people confined to small apartments, especially if they have kids that need entertainment and need to run around. Stay strong folks.

We are Just into week 3 here of the social distancing (that has progressively become more and more restrictive), 16 days total so far. Other than not getting to hang out with my buddy who I normally see ever Thursday and Saturday for Magic, Anime, and Video games - its not to bad. My D&D game went fully online, so we played that yesterday.

I work from home normally, so work hasnt changed for me. Normally after work, I would sit down and play video games or work on D&D or Magic, so not getting to go out isnt a big deal either. Most of my shopping is digital or online, so that didnt change much. Really as far as survival goes, it just sucks that going out to get food is annoying now.

I think my biggest disappointment is having to reschedule my cruise, but considering my sister-in-laws Father-in-law (not sure a better way to put that..) has been diagnosised with COVID-19 after a cruise he just took (Before all the social distancing and stuff was suggested), Im not in a rush to be on a boat with a bunch of people.

Im expecting it to be like this for a while longer. Even if the government gives the go ahead to go back out, I know they are doing that just to try to get people back to work more so than because the threat is gone, so my plan is to continue my social distancing all the way through till June.

aurick79 "I think my biggest disappointment is having to reschedule my cruise"

I have a cruise set up for next September, but they won't let me cancel it without a $1000 penalty!!!
I do think this will all be over by then (at least I hope it will) but I have no interest in going on a cruise right now
at that point. I think many people are reconsidering them in fact all together.

They did say to wait and see and if the virus is still around they may do something then, but it sounds more like
they will let you reschedule, not cancel. Not sure how the cruise industry gets away with keeping deposits and
requiring such large ones way in advance like this. It's like 9 months away, you should be able to just cancel the
damn thing.

I always loved kids (Was a teacher) and unlike most that would probably make this WAY easier if there were kids to watch etc (for me that is). I even thought of volunteering to watch kids of parents that are still working since school is out but there were two issues.

  1. I'm getting over pnuemonia and still coughing which would be scary for anyone.
  2. I'm high risk and having contact with people still working/going out could easily be a death sentance for me.

So sadly, it's just me, and I just rent a basement, so yeah, I don't even get to see the sun etc unless I go upstairs and outside for a walk or something. I try to go up at least once a day (was bbqing etc mainly.

I really miss my old house which was very large with a great view of pugent sound, right by the water (could have walked along it) etc. I'm retired now though so I am cutting costs and only paying $575 a month for this setup (Which is a good deal), it just doesn't feel like as good a deal when your stuck down here for weeks lol.

Quarantine is not a huge change for me, aside from killing date night.

The layoff of my sister due to virus related shutdowns, however... Let's just say this isn't the greatest time for that.

Spouse works in nursing at a nursing home, so nothing has really changed on that front. They've picked up a couple extra shifts, but that's about it.

At least in theory, unemployment may hopefully cover most of the loss from your sisters job (depends on the state as well). Hopefully she can get it back when this is over.

Ugh, I don't pray, but I wish the best of luck for your spouse, there have been some bad reports of entire nursing homes coming down with the virus...which would be absolutely heart breaking I'm sure (also kudos to your spouse for working there and hopefully making their lives a bit better).

She was denied unemployment apparently due to having worked 44 hours the week before the layoff.

Our only hope on that front is the subsidy thing actually coming through. The last thing I need is to be disabled and homeless again, especially in these times. It took me years to get over some homelessness related trauma.

Thank you for your well wishes and kind words. They really do work hard at taking care of the people there. They actually love their job. The co-worker situation is... It's been sub optimal even before all this and has only gotten worse. But they love the job itself.

Being disabled I can say they're very much a caregiver type from firsthand experience.

Did my 2-week shopping run this morning at a local grocery store to support their business. They have changed their hours to open later, which kinda stinks because more people are ready to shop at 10am vs. 7am.

I started working from home on March 12. Things haven't slowed down with my job and I'm very thankful to be working where I am right now. I'm glad I live alone with my cat and not with roommates. I don't mind being home alone every day; there's feeling alone and there's feeling lonely.

My city and state are adhering to the SIP order pretty well, all things considered. It's currently set to go until April 7, but I can definitely see it going longer.

On a super selfish note: my birthday is on April 19 and I've never spent a birthday alone. I really hope I don't have to.

Mine is April 27th, and I know it's selfish but I've been super bummed thinking my birthday is going to suck this year myself.

I always go to my sister's (not the one that lives here obviously) for my birthday.

My scheduled plans were an R&B concert and a Major League Soccer game, so obviously both of those aren't happening anymore! For now I'm planning to bake myself some treats, maybe host a party in Animal Crossing, and obviously chat with my family (they're all in another state).

Mine is April 24th. But I usually spend my birthday by myself.

I miss my diet sodie pop. Doesn't feel right to go out just for that when I don't really need it, and nobody seems to have it online anymore. Oh wells. Been drinking lots of tea

Wow, yeah, zoom might help with people who have birthdays soon, if you guys have not tried it yet. I've been playing DnD with friends through zoom, and it's very much like actually hanging out with them in real life:)

I REALLY hope we can go out by April 24th though, that is like a month away. I shaved and cut my own hair yesterday to feel more....normal I guess, I was turning into a grisly adams type guy. In another month though, I mean....I may revert to caveman times or something.

That's pretty nice that you're playing DnD. None of my friends want to play anymore. I miss it sometimes

Yeah maybe we'll be allowed out by April 24 but I'm not so sure

Lol, it's happened to me before. I actually have a beard trimmer which I used to shave and cut my hair (it can be adjusted to only barely trim my hair..so i'm not bald or anything).

Felt much better afterwards, but I also conditioned my hair (I wash it with shampoo fairly often, but only condition rarely). I think that has alot to do with me feeling more upbeat today actually.

Stuff like that happens in this house more than I'd like to admit, but it's usually not this scale. I'm honestly a bit surprised, and ngl relieved, to hear it's not just us. Also feel kinda bad it's not just us.

Glad to hear you're more upbeat today. Nice.
