He was president for 2 terms so he couldn't be again but.....if ANY demo had been in office and worked on fixing Obamacare instead of replacing it, it would probably have been better.

That isn't saying Demo's are better or that the affordable care act was great etc, I'm just saying improving an existing system would have been better than being inbetween them like we are now.

Maybe there was no way for it to be fixed, but I think it would still have been better that what we have now.

We'd probably get the free money but we'd have a leader taking charge through this whole thing. Apparently the US infastructure is kinda shit for a global scale pandemic, but Obama would have been on top of this, as much as could be expected, from the early days. Rather than spending days/weeks/however long it was saying this was nothing and not a big deal and we'll all be fine in a week, he'd have made sure we knew the seriousness of it all.

Ebola was different because of how the disease spread, you needed direct contact with bodily fluids.
It was /extremely/ unlikely to be endemic in the US because it wasn't in our culture to touch our dead family.

Well we know we would have had a task force in the White House that was literally working on emerging diseases from places like rural China so wed likely have more of a heads up, wed have more testing available and more PPE

Theres also no world where Obama would have been stupid enough to call an epidemic a hoax. I had to go to the store yesterday and I literally heard a couple guys parroting that shit.

Indeed, Fox News spun everything Obama did as wrong his entire 8 year term. They would nitpick even the smallest thing as it was a fucking huge deal. Shit even when he did something every Republican would agree is a good thing they would then spin it like Obama is trying to take all the credit, case in point when Obama and a team of soldiers finally tracked down Osama Bin Laden and killed him.

Here's the difference Trump is a moron that thinks he is a fucking genius, and if he thinks something is a certain way that is the way it is even if 100 experts tell him otherwise. Nearly every previous President understood when to defer to others and when to take their advice seriously, Trump doesn't do that he thinks he is never wrong.

Obama was a crap president, but a decent person. Trump is a crap presudent and a monster that only cares for himself and his ego.

Me, I'd err on the lesser of two evils on this one and say Obama would at least care and not constantly make it about his ego or belittle governors on national television like a child.

And what did they do headed up by an anti-science guy while Trump was out there trying to tell everyone it wasn't a big deal and fighting efforts to deal with it every single step of the way?

Basically anyone would have done a better job than Trump because at the very least it's unlikely any other president would have fired the pandemic response team two years ago. PEOPLE ACTUALLY BELIEVE IT IS A HOAX BECAUSE OF TRUMP!

Every step Trump has made has only been days after it should have been done when his hand was finally forced by the people around him.

Odds are it would be better, but still a serious problem. Testing rates would be better and you wouldn't have all the people disregarding social distancing measures because the president said it was a hoax, but you would still have many of the same people disregarding social distancing measures because the sort of person that blindly parrots what Trump says is the sort of person that categorically opposed everything Obama said. The country would also still have a hard time getting the disease under control because of the lack of reliable health care infrastructure and therefore testing. As much as Obama tried to fix the system, Obamacare wouldn't really be helping here, since handling something like this would require a near-complete overhaul of the dumpster fire that is the American health care system, including the culture and attitudes around it. That's more than any president could have managed by now, even with a hypothetical third term.

This. Also no EPA you can pollute limitlessly now order. The problem is there arent two parties. There is one with two factions that disagree on a couple of things. Its like China, where depending which group gains a foothold next will determine the path forward, but its not going to be very different.
