That definitely wasn't the norm. The Wii was very difficult to find for a couple months after its release. That was one of Nintendo's more high-profile supply shortages.

Probably after initial release, though. Initial release everywhere where I lived was the same. I'm not sure how long it took them to restock afterwards, though. But I do know that all the stores in the area always had like 10 of both Sony and Microsoft systems. But Nintendo always had a stronger initial release.

Well, yeah. You still had to get there early. Like at my store, all 64 were gone almost instantly as soon as the store opened You still had to be in line. So, if you went to the store like right after it opened, you were already too late. But nearly everyone who was in line got one. There weren't really that many, tbh. But I tried getting in line several times at multiple stores for the other 2, and it still took forever to get one. But I did only one line for the Wii and got it. There were enough Wiis that we were able to make a list, and everybody was fine with it...

My mom started waiting at 4 am to wait for a Wii.

Our local GameStop had a first come first served when it came out. She was the first or second in line.

Everyone confirmed it, and had to because some woman who showed up at 11 am tried to claim she was there before my mom.

Apparently the shipment ended up running late and didn't show up until 1 pm. There were supposed to be 8, there were 4.

Crazy stuff.

Seems like Switch supplies are dwindling due in part to Covid-19. Sucks, but that is the least of the fucking worries of the world right now. They were readily available pretty much for the past year up until this point.

The week before we went on lockdown, a boss of mine (who hasnt had a console since the NES when he was a kid) who knows Im a gamer started asking about recommendations on what he should get for his kids (ages 7, 5 & 3). Hed already ordered a PS4, but could return it. Hed never even heard of the Switch, but I told him it was more kid-friendly and that it could be both a console and a portable. Sold him on it right there, with portable part.

There's nothing wrong with the Switch Lite and it is in fact, better than the Switch.

I mean, you can, you just have to buy a separate set of joycons and set the Lite up on a table so you can play on a tiny screen. It sounds miserable and I'd never even consider it, but it's still possible.

If you arent playing with gyro you are handicapping yourself.

If you are using gyro in handheld mode youre getting a headache.

I always play with gyro. And I use handheld. I never get a headache. I also don't wildly swing my switch around. You shouldn't have to move that much with Splatoon. Idk... Not trying to sound mean, but that sounds more like an isolated problem...

Idk what this means.

S+ in both modes in both splatoons. Take it from a top tier player, gyro in handheld mode is suboptimal for your performance.

Idk. I do much better in handheld mode. I'm not a top player, but I'm pretty good. It might just e easier for others in whatever mode. Personally, I don't understand how it would give you a headache. If it's too much movement, you should be able to change the sensitivity. And using the reset button helps to minimize movements, as well.

As for what I said, I'm saying out of all the people I've seen play the game in real life, I've never seen someone get a headache from playing in handheld mode a lot... That's why I said what I said. I guess it happens. I just never see it...

Specifically using gyro in handheld. You have to track with your eyes while moving your screen around while having a small screen to pick off targets from range. Not as big of issue with brush and rollers but deff with the snipers and longer range weapons.

That might be it. I don't use snipers. Worst weapon for me. I only used it for single players for those certain levels... I avoid them. So maybe it's sniper users. The small screen doesn't bother me, though... But I know some people take issue with it. It's still bigger than most handhelds, so I'm good with it...

Depends. I used a bunch for BotW. And got some cool items. Like the Twilight Bow. And Epona, the horse. And I used them in Super Mario Odyssey, as well... You can get some extra perks using the Mario Characters. And the other characters can help you find Moons, I think. And I think you can get some extra stuff in Splatoon 2. And I got extra stuff in HWDE. But they aren't really needed. And what they can do depends on the game and Amiibos...
