Want to actually record stuff.

He did a very disorganized podcast just the other day (it likely wont be edited or actually posted, just like the last 3 recordings done over the last 6 months)

As of today, hes been free from work for 3 days. I asked him when he woke up at 7 PM if he was going to record anything, and he goes on and on about how he HAS to log onto the computer and play DND with some randos, but hes been locked up in his room playing Apex for 7 hours instead.

I told him that if you actually want YouTube subscribers, youre going to need to have a pretty set schedule of content.

But no, he believes his 12 followers only want him to do one hastily edited podcast every few months to explain why he hasnt been active. They dont want him to release podcasts or game streams, or whatever. No, only one podcast solely dedicated to excusing his absence. Nothing else. Not even the actual content they initially subscribed to.

Releasing content like that will actually make him lose subscribers, he says

all 12 of them, in fact.

i recorded game walkthroughs back in the early years of youtube. like 2006. i never stuck with it though. it was too much work.

All he wants to do is get 10 hours of footage of some game hes playing with our other housemate, and they want to cut it down into a funny compilation thatll make everyone lol apparently and THEN hell make it big.

I asked him if he wanted to do a Cuphead playthrough (hes talked about playing infamously difficult games and trying to get good at them and streaming it)

He doesnt want to do that either! Instead, he says hes rather just record the gameplay and dub over our commentary after the fact. Subscribers dont want you talking AS you play. Thatd be silly, right? Theyd rather you sound disconnected as you watch your own stream and comment on it after the intensity has passed

I know! Ive been telling him that Pewdiepie only had like a 100 subs after his first year, and my housemate went off like Well Pewdiepie had QUALITY content. (He didnt)

He just posted videos all the time and kept his web presence up. My housemate seems to think that 1) hes going to get a one off viral video and make it big and 2) that these people making these huge one-off viral videos tend not to continue making those numbers.
