50 y/o Sideshow Freak, George Falcone from New Jersey is charged with TERRORISM after he COUGHED on a supermarket employee claiming he had COVID-19!!

He was charged with making terroristic threats in the 3rd degree and other charges after he got into a beef with an employee at Wegman's supermarket after they asked him to back his ass up from prepared foods as she covered them.

Instead, he leaned on her and purposely coughed in her face and LAUGHED before stating "I have COVID-19"

Then he approached other employees and told them they were lucky to have jobs when he was FIRED and starting coughing on them too!!

Police arrived and he initially refused to identify himself but he denied the accusations claiming he didn't intentionally cough on anyone and never mentioned corona

NJ Governor, Phil Murphy referred ot the charges as "knuckleheads out there" and that police were taking action against egregious behaviour while they are on lockdown.

He said exploiting fears and creating panic is reprehensible especially in these difficult times

3rd degree terrorism charge carries a 3-5 year sentence if found guilty and the harassment is an extra 6 months

He was also charged with obstructing administration of the law in the 4th degree and faces up to 18 months for that

The US Justice Dept said anyone who threatens to infect people could face fed charges

Should this fired freak go to prison for this?

Yeah. In theory this is attempted murder. Folk who have HIV and willingly pass it on also get into trouble too or any other disease. Doesn't matter if he really has it or not as the intention would still be their and these idiots need to learn not that I expect them too.

You do know that the flu has a mortality rate of .5%, while the Corona virus has a mortality rate of 3.2%. It might not sound like much, but that difference is huge.

While I don't buy into fear mongering as the media loves to do I'd have thought it would be common sense to not deliberately want to or even suggest that you've passed disease onto people that could be fatal to them.

If he actually has Covid, he deserves 3-5 for it. If he's just trolling -- which is more likely -- he should get a lesser prison sentence.

Uh, duh? If you made a clearly hyperbolic threat -- like "I'm going to throw you into the sun!" -- the fact that it's clearly an empty threat negates it being considered a threat. And within the context here, it can be somewhat assumed that the person isn't serious even if you aren't completely sure. Conversely, if he does have it...

I mean the culprit knows it is an empty threat, but not the victim. In this case I would mean a situation like threatening someone with an unloaded/fake gun, the implied threat is still there and as such it would still count as assault right?

Not on those grounds, no. And keep in mind that he's already violating other laws so there's not much reason to go for that anyway, unless you feel that being an asshole should carry a 5-year prison sentence, at which point most of this country would find itself locked up for a very long time.
