Anti voting is when people vote for something not because they prefer it but because they dont like the other option.

So they are voting to make something lose rather than to make something win.

I kind of figured just was double checking.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/poll/5266-character-battle-ix-final-draven-vs-solid-snake-vs-samus

Draven won an entire contest in 2013 through rallying, beating Link (who always wins) in the process.

5 years later, Draven is in his second contest and does this:

Amaterasu is great an all, but couldn't get 25% on Link if she tried.

Probably the single biggest example of anti-voting I can think of from Board 8. Undertale won in 2015 with a big rally just like Draven.

It has a decent shot at getting this same treatment this contest, though it's not a lock by any means.

More traditionally, games like Dota, Destiny, Fortnite, and Minecraft get anti-voted here.

I guess multiplayer online games are always likely to get antivoted here. One big upset was Paper Mario winning over WoW.

BotW will get anti-voted because it's the strongest game in the bracket, but that doesn't change the fact it's the favorite, just means some percentages might get wonky (getting the same % against games of different strength).

Final Fantasy will get anti-voted because there are still people who think FF always wins everything. Ironically, the two FF games in the bracket aren't that strong so that might make them lose faster.

Undertale is very likely to get anti-voted, as Sans and Draven were last contest, due to revenge for the rallies. How weak that can make it is anyone's guess (I have it losing R1, but most people seem to have it getting to R3).

Casual bait such as Fortnite definitely gets anti-voted. I'd say Minecraft does too, but Dota is another likely target for anti-voting due to its identity as competitive game and the connection to LoL. So be careful with this one.

Games from dead series or from companies who have a bad rep may get anti-voted, or may not. Stuff like Mass Effect, Falout, Assassins's Creed. Some people even think Skyrim gets anti-voted because of Bethesda. Who knows.

The actual challenge is figurng out which such events actually happen and affect the results, since we don't know exactly how voters will behave.

That's not anti-voting, Draven is actually that weak. He was getting destroyed by a non-main Persona character prior to the rally. Ammy got 40% on Sephiroth.

There's a difference between being fodder and letting Ammy have the blowout of the contest. Don't be mistaken.
