I took preworkout for the first time this morning and added creatine sups as of yesterday. With all of the hype, I was kind of disappointed with preworkout. Caffeine doesnt do much for me either. I may wake up early tomorrow and try preworkout again to see if it wakes me up when I'm sluggish. It may have more of an effect when I go back to work and cant nap all day idk.

The lack of gym, playing sports, and working from home has made me want to eat my boredom and restlessness away.

Regular 4 day a week weightlifting is off the table for the time being. Right now it's just cardio and bodyweight fitness. I'm still at a deficit and still losing weight at around the same amount each week.

pushup training like this work?
https://youtu.be/1Bj5PPxgEwo

i had no idea pushup can be done like the five they show. they showed the proper mechanics and technique to build up the form than just pounding them out whole.

always felt different muscles engaging. i recall even pulling up to help pushup because i wasnt strong enough. like i did pushups like they showed us back in school. just did it them when i had to.

video inspired me to do pushup training to see if i can do better than my personal best.

August 15th, I was 305 lbs. As of this morning, I'm 221 lbs. My goal is 215 lbs. So, it's going well lol

Once I hit the goal I shift from focusing on cardio to lose weight and scale back cardio (but still include it) and start lifting soon.

I was right there with you a couple weeks ago. Last real run was on the 14th, and for a couple days after that it was very painful. My work requires me to go up and down stairs 10-15 times a day. Ouch. The next ~10 days there was a persistent dull ache, only when I exerted it. It's been better the past couple days, and I've started walking again. Even some very light jogging for 3 minutes today. I notice the discomfort is reduced when I focus on relaxing my feet while I run. I have a tendency to hold them very rigid, and I'm wondering if that's applying extra pressure on my knee. Trying to be looser and more relaxed, and hoping I can get back to running like I was before. Such a drag to be dealing with injury now when I'm stuck at my house and want to get into the best shape I can.

I was pretty certain that my issue was IT Band Syndrome (ITBS) which is actually more of a hip problem that causes pain in the outer knee. I googled a bunch of glute strengthening exercises that I've been doing daily.

After 3 days off, I managed to run for an hour with 0 pain today, which is very promising but what matters more is how I feel tomorrow. I have had a few runs with "1/5" or "2/5" pain in the last 2 weeks only to end up with "4/5" pain the next day.

Been working out pretty consistently for the past 3 months or so. Had a stressful couple weeks where I got out of sync there for a bit, but got back on track the past 2 weeks. Been starting to go for runs now during my lunch break since working from home. Just gotta stop drinking like a pig and eating crap food. Since my car blew up on me and I moved out to the sticks, trips to the grocery store have been less frequent and I'm not eating nearly as well as I had been.

So I guess I've been doing well in some areas, poor in others. Better to be 50% good than 0% I suppose.

Im not getting exercise from work, since Im quarantined. I cant go out and ride my bike because its either too cold or 99% of the towns population is all clustered on the trails with their little kids running and sneezing all over the place.

So, basically, all I can do is play video games and watch tv.

Didn't do shit over the winter except stick to my lifting schedule. I'm only up five pounds though which is good imo, should be able to drop those quickly once the weather is nice enough to bike every day. I'm at 215 and I'd like to get down to 200ish by the end of Summer.

I'm at about a year and a half of regular lifting and still loving it. Up to 45 lb dumbbells. My arms look p great.

Just weighed in this morning. I'm about 2 lbs. from hitting the goal, so that means I'll probably be hitting the weights this coming week.

Does anyone here have any recommendations for protein intake? A supplement or something? I don't eat red meat (I don't enjoy red meat), but do eat chicken (or poultry in general) and fish. Or is there something I might be overlooking as an option? It has been a long time since I've focused on weight lifting so I'm going to be rusty as hell.

Boiled egg whites.
Lots of nuts.
Whey protein.
Tuna, and Salmon.
Nut butters.

If you want to gain that 2 pounds quick, go with a Carb > Fat > Protein

Eat a peanut butter sandwich before going to sleep as well. Add in a cup of Almond milk.

I'll look for those things on my next grocery run (please keep those supply lines up, truckers!). The peanut butter thing will be fantastic...love that stuff.

Also, I should have clarified, I've got 2 lbs. left to lose before I start lifting. I'm trying to hit the goal of 215 lbs. and then switch gears into more weight lifting. It might seem silly to quibble over a pound or two, but I want to make sure to finish each goal properly before moving on. If I quit before I hit a goal, did I really gain or accomplish things? Best to take it one proper step at a time, I think.

Oh, then just eat abit less calories, like 250-500 less, and do about 20 to 25 min cardio couple times a week. If you're trying to avoid running outside, do what I do. Hindu squats. 300 should be enough to start you off. Increase it as much as you can take it. You can do them in sets, and not in 1 go.
