Never was big on Mr. Bean's actor, but maybe this'll change me mind.
Oh yeah, you can recommend other UK/British/whatever stuff to watch for the list. I think I recreated it properly, but probably missed a couple.

FINISHED:

Father Ted
Fawlty Towers

TO-DO LIST (no particular order):

Red Dwarf
Vicar of Dibley
Allo Allo
Black Books
The IT Crowd
Dad's Army
Keeping Up Appearances (have seen episodes, but I wanna watch all of this, honestly)
Darkplace

Keep in mind that the first season of Blackadder isn't great.

In fact, it struggles to reach "good"

Series 2 and 4 and to a much lesser extent, series 3, is where it's at.

Speaking as a Brit, I'd have to say that how can I put this? my personal tastes wouldn't include 'Allo, 'Allo, Dad's Army, or Keeping Up Appearances. Shotgunnova, please try not to judge our output on the basis of those shows.

Crepes suggested Brass Eye. If you give that a spin and you like it, you'll probably like Chris Morris's earlier effort, The Day Today. (I'm not sure that something like Brass Eye's "Paedogeddon" episode would be green-lit for broadcast these days...!)

I'll add Young Ones, Brasseye, and The Day Today to the list. AYBS is one of those PBS ones I've seen some episodes of, but would like to watch the whole thing through. Not sure why I didn't put it on the list earlier. Might give HGTTU a shot, too (unless you mean the movie, which I've already seen).

Yeah, but the topic purged and I didn't save anything. I went through a list of BBC shows to see what I could remember.

Not sure if you mean the humor is dated/corny or something about it wouldn't fly today (like the major dropping an n-bomb in Fawlty Towers, in the most famous episode, even), but I doubt it'll bother me.

Maybe the other seasons of Blackadder just kick tons of ass by comparison, but for the moment, S1 is pretty enjoyable. Just finished the second episode and rather enjoying the historical bent.

Black Adder is easily in my top five TV shows of all time. You also need to track down the Black Adder one-offs; Black Adder's Christmas Carol, Black Adder Back and Forth and Black Adder The Cavalier Years. They are all probably on youtube by now, but I bought the DVD box set and they are on that.

Also a great documentary on the inception and making of Black Adder on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi2bX2u5HpA

Black Books, The IT Crowd are Spaced are brilliant. I'd add my vote to Hyperdrive. Also, Drop the Dead Donkey (about a hopeless newsroom) is old, but still relevant and funny.

If you enjoy seeing the monarchy being taken down, then The Windsors is very silly, but hilarious and up to the minute show. Three series of it now, on Channel 4. https://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-windsors

The final episode of Blackadder is probably the best ending to a comedy series ever.
