anybody see that fight!? I thoroughly enjoyed it. two heavyweights with the heart to keep pushing forward regardless of the situation.

that towel getting thrown in is already causing "controversy" though

wilder could barely stand straight. people shouldn't have a problem with the stoppage unless they wanted to see somebody fucking die in the ring.

Word. He was done. No disrespect to him, but Fury took care of business.

Deontay is pissed at his corner for throwing in the towel. he feels like his own team fucked up apparently. but he had been on Wobble Street since like round 2, so...

lmao, thanks. I lazily typed in "tyson" in the topic search, and nothing came up. if only I typed only "fury" instead, lol

Fighters want to fight. Of course they will be upset if their corner throws in the towel. The fighter could be crippled or even killed, if hes not protected from himself. However, I agree with Max Kellerman that the Heavyweight Championship is such a huge, iconic prize that I understand if some fighters want to risk their life to win it all. Hell, they are already risking it just by stepping in to the ring.

i watched the fight, it was fantastic. And there is no controversy, anyone who knows anything about boxing knows his corner did the right thing. He couldn't defend himself and wasn't able to throw anything anymore. It was simply a matter of time before Deontay hit the mat for the last time. No point in risking permanent damage.

The corner did the right thing no debate about it. I appreciate Wilder wanting to save face and continuing with the warrior spirit vibe, but he simply got outclassed by Fury. Even though I wanna see AJ/Fury, I'd pay for the trilogy fight. Whatever it is about them Wilder-Fury just make incredibly exciting fights together.

Nothing controversial about it, Wilder was slipping and sliding for at least 4 rounds.

Dude was done after the 2nd round. As a fighter he's of course going to want to keep going until he's ko'd, but his corner is there to protect his future. Live to fight another day.
