According to that cartoon, Rogue got her flight and super power from sucking Ms. Marvel for too long. So why is Ms. Marvel a super hero again? Isn't she supposed to be in a coma because of Rogue?

The show is its own marvel universe

basically everything Marvel is canon, just different parts of the multiverse

The cartoon is not part of the main marvel comics 616 universe though

I didn't like how they pretty much abandoned some of the bigger characters. Especially Jubilee, she pretty much doesn't exist anymore... D:

She did at one point lose the powers she got from Ms. Marvel, but that was unrelated to Ms. Marvel waking up. Ms. Marvel actually woke up (in comics) before Rogue ever joined the X-Men. Rogue got a somewhat similar power set from someone else later, but I'm not sure who offhand.

Whenever Jean Grey and Jubilee speak to each other on that show, that is the closest Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield will ever be.

The cartoon isn't canon - but that event did happen (and is canon) in the comics.

Carol was only in a "coma" for a single issue, though. The same comic where Rogue stole her powers, Carol woke up in the end. She was left powerless, though.

The point of that story (and the one immediately before it) was basically to get rid of Carol as a character because the editor-in-chief/Avengers writer at the time didn't like the character.

So yes, Rogue was originally like Rogue in the X-Men movies (with just the power-drain power), and has only had the power to fly around with super strength because of what she stole from Carol.

Chris Claremont (the X-Men writer) later brought Carol back by having something give her new powers (at which point she started calling herself Binary), and then later Avengers writers sort of reverted her back to her original version (but with the name Warbird, because by then they felt like Ms. Marvel was too chauvinistic).

They eventually changed Carol's name to Captain Marvel because they need to keep putting out comic books called "Captain Marvel" to retain the trademark (which is why there've been like seven different Captain Marvels over the last 40 years), and because it gave them a chance to reuse the Ms. Marvel name for a different character.

Carol in the movies is WAAAY overpowered compared to her comic character, though - it's sort of a cross between her actual Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel version and her Binary version.

Not canon per se - that is, going by the main comics (Earth-616). However, it is part of the Marvel multiverse: along the Spider-Man animated series, it is designated as Earth-92131; this universe also includes Earth-31393 (Bishop), Earth-13393 (Cable), Earth-121893 (divergent from the aforementioned two: a plague free timeline without Sentinels for Bishop, and one ensuring Apocalypse's plague to be released and swiftly stopped immediately for Cable; this reality's Apocalypse lated traveled to Earth-92131), and those from the Spider Wars: Earth-98311 (Spider-Carnage), Earth-31198 (Armored Spider-Man), Earth-11983 (Octo Spidey), Earth-39811 (Six-Armed Spider-Man), Earth-98311 (Scarlet Spider) and Earth-38119 (Spider-Man actor and Stan Lee).

While similar, The Marvel Action Hour animated series (Fantastic Four, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk) are part of Earth-534834.

It was canon in the 80's and 90's but after all the "Crisis on", "Multiverse", and reboots of everything there really isn't anything canon about anything it seems, because it all depends on how hard the wind is blowing on who's in charge lol.

You need to look a bit closer. Marvel has done more rebooting and canon changing than anyone, no "technically" about it. They've both done plenty over the last 60 years and more.

that is called a reboot

marvel has technically never done a full reboot. The closest thing would be secret wars 2015 but even that technically was not a reboot
