What is this?
Much like the old 1006-verse, this will be a gigantic mod for the booking sim Total Extreme Wrestling 2020 (*knocks on wood*) crossing over many different fandoms and forms of media.

What happened to the 1006-verse?
We bit off way more than any of us wound up able to chew. A variety of uncontrollable events, burnout, and the friggin' thing taking several years knocked out every (major- Maniac stayed the course good job Maniac thanks Maniac) helper person one by one, leaving us with like 85% of a mod that wasn't realistically ever gonna get the last 15%. It's still up on the dropbox and will be converted and re-uploaded after 2020 is available. I had a feeling this was gonna be our ultimate fate, so I've been kinda lightly and quietly poking at my "reboot" idea ever since I brought it up.

What's different this time?
The driving concept behind this one is that I am going to set it up such that I will never be in a position where I have to count on anybody else to do anything. That means I am planning for doing this entirely on my own, and if anybody chips in a bit, great! THAT means that this mod will only cover characters and media that I feel comfortable doing without help, which in turn means the mod is going to be a good bit smaller and almost entirely based around "my" stuff.

What can I do to help?
I'm still going to have this topic as a hub. I'll seek input and feedback on stuff from time to time. (at the beginning especially) I can also definitely use help with things like pics and bios that don't require you to do any direct messing with the mod. Eventually, playtesting will be a thing as well. But, the idea is that anybody can drop in or out of this topic at any point with minimal repercussions, so hopefully that means less pressure and stress for all parties concerned.

What about using the old game as a base?
Some of it will be. Some of it won't be, and I'm sorry about that to anybody who contributed. Looking at how much work was going to be needed to A) Thanos Snap, B) shuffle everybody's location/pop/languages around to accommodate the game world redesign, and C) attributes and updates and balancing for the conversion to 2020, I don't think it winds up being much more work to just start from the beginning again. Plus this way I get to make some adjustments that wouldn't have been practical to make late in the game, and it kinda lets me get a fresh mental start, which is sorely needed at this point. Some feds and characters though, I will pretty much just grab from the old mod and convert.

But my favorite characters are gonna be gone!
Some of them, probably. Sorry. A lot of the old feds, I'll be able to keep in some of the major players. Like, I can and will give you a handful of early Naruto characters, I just haven't read past the first arc or two. I'm also planning to let everybody who helped on the old mod give me a list of a dozen or so? characters to put in even though I'll have to do research. (I reserve the right to veto somebody whose research would spoil me, but I don't think it'll come to that.) Eaed's also pledged to help advise me with some Bleach and FMA people who would normally be on the borderline, so if you want to make similar pledges I'll see what I can do. But again I'm not gonna put myself in another situation where I need y'all to do something and can't do it myself.

What's the schedule looking like?
Something like...

Feb: Propose rosters for the whole game, get feedback and adjust
Mar: Get a head start on pics, hopefully the 2020 demo comes out and I can start messing with it

And then I'm planning to go 0-100% on each region in turn:

Proooooobably not unless I play it between now and October, which is....possible but unlikely, with Trails and Disgaea and CT at least to get through first. It falls into that awkward gap where I care enough to want to avoid spoilers but don't know it well enough to bumble through. :\ Maybe just the retired wrestler boss lady or something.

Basara is mostly gone but should have some guest presence in Dynasty Warriors

Granblue I don't know at all. Might change in time, probably won't. I like all my mobage rn and if I drop one I'm probably adding like Arknights or Bang or Frontline first

Misc....I haven't thought that far ahead honestly, I just know I'm gonna think of like twenty shows I like that don't deserve their own fed

YYH to Jump is actually a good idea and I am not sure why I didn't think of that sooner.

I have drafted lists for some of the bigger feds- figure I might as well post them now.
A few notes on these:

-I don't know exact roster sizes, so I am just kinda guessing and leaving open the option of filling in from each fed's FAs.

Aizen should be the Bleach villain imo. He is the most well known and popular.

Same reason I'd say to add Doflamingo to One Piece as a villain. Or Crocodile (or both lol). But I'm obviously super bias on One Piece and would want them to have 6-10 people.

Biggest villains are Blackbeard (who should really be the other rep now that I think about it), Croc, Doffy, and Big Mom imo.

And Buggy as the eternal comedy villain who should definitely be in.

So if its 4 reps make it Luffy, Zoro, Buggy, Blackbeard. Next I'd say add Nami and/or Sanji. Then Usopp. Then Croc/Doffy.

I will.... refrain from opinions on Jump Force, but add Kurama to that list. Best YYH chara, personal opinion, and... largely untainted by Jump Force's failures.

...Sadly I have to agree with Maniac on the Aizen thing, my distaste for Aizen's worth, or lack thereof, as a character notwithstanding.

...Also either Frieza or Cell would work as the main heel for the DBZ rep, unless you're counting Vegeta as the main roster Heel.

...And okay *that* early in One Piece if we're still remembering Kuro of the Hundred Plans o-o'. ...And yeah that list for OP works, especially considerin' it's the only one of the big three still going.

I personally put Aizen and OG Broly in the same category of 'cool/'cool' designs, and are basically just walking power levels'. Different *types* of power levels, mind, and Irealize I'm explaining this poorly. @__@'' And I despise both with the fury of a thousands suns that're each powered by the souls of the damned. I'm completely cool with DBS Broly, tho, actually a character I like.

so hey I am thinking of spinning out some dev feds. I didn't initially have any planned, but looking back over my lists, I'm thinking I could spin SMRPG off of Square, YYH and Kenshin off of Jump, and Revue Starlight off of the weeb music thingy. All four of those are less popular than the associated main things, but I know them better and they have enough roster depth to be their own thing.

Oh boy! Cause I was worried about Greed/Ling getting cut but I didn't want to make an overwhelming amount of requests because I was a failure in doing my part. Byuaka is gonna be your heel rep because he is like your mid boss that later becomes ally similar to Vegeta.

Also if were gonna do a fair representation to DBZ. I would recommend getting assistance through Gohan, Piccolo, and Trunks. With each Saga villain represented for balance. (Freiza, Cell, and Buu) (you could even do altar egos for Buu to do Mr. Buu for his face gimmick)

Today is gonna be US, which is gonna be one of the trickier ones that I'll want a close eye on please. I already had a good bit of sorting done, and will be chipping away throughout today. Worth noting:
-Modern/Classic are no longer split
-We're missing all the feds we were missing in 1006, plus NWA, so that should free up some dudes.
-I will particularly need an eye on AEW since I'm trying to do it off their first handful of shows. Same goes for Stardom and CHIKARA sorta, but those should mooooostly be good with importing from what we had before. (Maniac I will get back to you on what I need for converting)
