8 games in 10 years. Also 3 consoles (2DS, PS3, Switch). Why would I sell any of them?
To be honest, 2 of them weren't available on PC at the time of their purchase, 1 I got only because I bought a used PS3 and the others are locked by Nintendo's proprietary malware.

I'd love to sell some of my PC games but that would destroy those dank profit margins on PC.

Yeah, there are a few I do regret selling. Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, Castlevania Bloodlines, Castlevania Lament of Innocence, most of my PS1 games, but oh well.

Yeah, it is becoming as expensive as California. One Bedroom apartments these days cost anyway from $1100-1400 and that's in shitty neighborhoods. The 2 bedroom apartment my wife and I have is $1700 and that rate is only because we moved in in 2012. The rate today for moving in for the first time is $2200. Ever since they legalized pot here the costs have sky rocketed due to how many bums moved here.

Bums by definition have no money to move with.

I just saw a video Ninja Gaiden Trilogy is a worse port of the games in a couple cases. They took the Nintendo games and were so lazy porting them they cut some major corners and they are worse.

I can't disagree more. They took the NES games and gave them a password system so the third game was actually beatable. Not to mention the graphics were much improved.

I never had an issue at all and I played all 3 games on both consoles.

I don't understand the idea behind this thread.

There are downgrades, the music was changed to be worse, and a few of the levels lack some of the graphics the NES had.

I just don't buy that many. When I do buy full price I stick to games I know I'm very likely to enjoy enjoy and replay. I've sold a few that didn't work out, so I can maximize my return and use the money to try other games. Everything else I buy on sale for the most part, both digital and physical, so I can get the most bang for my buck.

Every few years though I go through my collection and pull out things I know I'll never touch again and sell them if they have no special meaning to me.

Becuase I totally bought all of those games on Day 1 each for full price. A lot of them I waited for Buy 2 Get 1 Free sales and stuff. The only ones on that list I actually bought on Day 1 were Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 6, Hitman Absolution, Onimusha Remastered, The Last of Us Remastered, GTAV, and Red Dead Redemption II. In fact, Hitman Absolution is the whole reason I stopped buying most games on Day 1 as it went on sale for half price two weeks after I got it and the store refused to refund me the difference due to having opened my copy even though their price guarantee policy is supposed to be 30 Days.

Anyway, it is interesting how some are really taking this topic overly serious instead of just having a fun discussion.

Usually we'd only get 2 'new' games a year, birthday and Xmas.

And those day one games alone would mount up to >$350, which is most of my monthly rent. My point stands. I've bought exactly two games full price in the last 15 years - Tales of Xillia 2 and Lightning Returns.

If you don't want a topic to be taken seriously, maybe try not making it about a topic that's life or death to a lot of people, eh?

Holey Moley! $350? Where do you live? I need to move there!

It's funny but till recently you could pretty much play all physical games for free, and you can still do so, but with a more limited time.

Bestbuy had a gamepass that let you buy games for 20% off, and then you could sell them used (on facebook/craigs etc) for the full price after you had played it to death.

Gamestop still lets you buy used games and return them (Believe it's within a week, but MUCH longer around xmas), and they actually encourage you to do it. Many ex-gamestop employees do it regularly).

Even outside of that you can buy used and then resell it, often for the same price or within 5$ or so, playing the games as long as you like.

The bestbuy method let you actually get the games on launch day, but that is gone now.

So, it's still cheaper in many ways to buy physical games, then digital ones, even from steam. I'm just lazy (not rich) and I don't buy many games anymore (and pretty much only on big sales).

I'm in the UK, and in social housing (in Manchester) to boot, so it's below market rate, but my monthly rent figure works out about 440 for my 2br apartment, which was why I said "most". Heating is all electric, & my electricity & water bills work out about 130/month on top of that, plus 45 for the phone line for my ADSL & my Internet package (with unlimited bandwidth but no phone package for the landline as I don't use it except to have the net & my community alarm plugged into it).

I can see why you'd think it was pretty good. It's a lot if you can't work, though (I'm severely disabled, a wheelchair user, & don't know if I'll be conscious for more than an hour from one day to the next).

How am I contradicting myself? I said I bought those games. I never said they were all on Day 1.

I'd assume you would be claiming disability benefits though right? Those can be a large amount but I'm also aware some folk still need to jump through a lot of hoops and only to get nothing even if they really should.
