Baseball's proposed changes were hideous and out of the blue. In other sports where it would be entirely possible for everyone to have equal schedules, it makes less sense. Playoffs reward the team who is healthiest and in the best form at the end of the season rather than rewarding the team who has been the best for the entire season. As shattered said it makes more sense for sports like football or, say, college sports, where you can't play every team, but even so, playoffs' purpose isn't for finding the best team, and I'm into sports for the competitive aspect of it. To see which team is the best.
