Anger obviously can lead to death in many forms, not to mention just raising your blood pressure and causing you to die from a heart attack etc. Fear can prevent you from doing things that you need to live, while also possibly causing you to die of a heart attack. Sadness can cause you to wish for death with your entire being, preventing you from eating, and basically just letting yourself die. My daughter had this during her AVM rupture in her brain. It was touch and go for many reasons but she slowly got better.
