Age sounds better than Era. The syllable count flows better and you actually start the word age and era with close enough sounds.

If they went with "Era" it would be purely for the sake of forcing alliteration rather than in the interest of a better title.

Journey of the Cursed King is the only one that fills me with a sense of wonder. Most of the other titles feel like nonsense

Nah, Elusive Era sounds better than Elusive Age. The G sound disrupts the flow.

They were added much later (for the mobile remakes for 2 and 3, and for the DS remakes for 4, 5, and 6). 7s was also added for the 3DS remake.

They always have in Japanese beyond the first one. Some of them are pretty much the same as the English but a few are very different!
