The source of the virus Wuhan is a big city a population of around 11 million, so it doesn't only kill poor rural Chinese people The point of all of this is preventing this thing from spreading everywhere like the flu. Now, just using my brain here... I think the quarantine was always doomed to fail. Let's just assume the incubation time is 10 days so 14 days is 4 days overkill. The quarantine still could never work because people aren't all going to get it day 1. They are likely getting it staggered. So if anyone got the virus day 6, the quarantine is dead anyways as day 15 and 16, a couple days after the quarantine ends, they are still spreading. Never understood the quarantine imposed there. They never knew who had the disease.
