Not gonna make a lengthy play by play here, just little comments here and there as I go along probably. Started playing because I know it's considered a pretty legendary game, and with House in Fata Morgana climbing it's way to my number 1 game last year I can't help be interested in another game about a vengeful ghost witch in a secluded western mansion. I will note that that's literally the only thing I knew about this game other than vague memories of a bunch of dead bodies in a shed from the first episode of the shitty anime adaptation from a decade ago, which has no come to pass. I am definitely engrossed by now, and have absolutely no idea how in the WORLD I am theoretically less than 10% into the length of this game. With the color especially, these are more like MS Paint. I don't have the energy to do the tea thing or start episode 2 yet, but WOW that ending crawl is very promising. I'm assuming this is going to be repeating the days but with different actions in the episodes moving forward, at least for a bit? Love this kind of stuff. Also some serious 999 vibes from a lot of this, in terms of some tone stuff. Not to get ahead of myself, and though Higurashi is a very different situation what with me having watched the whole show since it was, you know, super good, I'll probably end up playing that later as well. Bought World End Syndrome a while ago, about 8 hours into that and it's fine so far, but not drawing me in a ton. Will certainly come back to it. For now, though, onwards with Umineko! I don't think there's any particular weak spots so far, maybe the old lady I haven't bothered to remember the name of yet, but it's not like I dislike her. Active dislike...mayhe Gohda? I don't see a world where he suddenly becomes rad, I absolutely see a future where he becomes a huge piece of shit. My favs so far are Battler, Eva, Kyrie, and Jessica.
