So should I just remove Rhythm and Overcast type skills? Skills that require button presses. I left them equipped on the off-chance that the AI for Rita uses those skills, but I feel like they probably don't. Just want to know to remove them for other skills once and for all.
Also regarding Spell End... what does it mean when they say "Able to move immediately after casting a spell" because I don't really need Rita to move around the field, I just have her stand in the back of the party and spam spells. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Speaking of Judith I tried to get an altered arte of hers that requires me to be in the air to perform it. After a couple of times I just said screw it because it was incredibly tedious to try and do. I think it's called Rising Luna Rondo. Basically I have to jump and then quickly press the arte button for her to do it, then there's a lag/downtime before I'm able to get her to jump again and do the arte again. How did they expect anyone to get her to learn that arte? Doing it 100 more times seems way too tedious just to learn it.

It's a shame the story is a little blah because I am loving the skits and little portrait animations the characters have with each other.
I'm also sad that I haven't been doing all the sidequests (due to how obtuse some of them are to initiate and they're missable) because a lot of fun dialogue and character interactions are in them, with some added development and hilarity all around. Wish they'd just tell us the sidequests to do in a journal because I feel a lot of story and world building is in them and without it, the game misses a big chunk. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Did the original Tales of Vesperia have as many translation errors/grammar mistakes/spelling mistakes etc? I usually find those endearing because I know how difficult and time-consuming it must be to localize and translate hundreds of pages of japanese dialogue.
But there are so so many in this game and I'm wondering if the original 360 version was like that or if it's something with this rushed port job. I'm already vaguely aware that there was some voice cast controversy. Did anyone notice these mistakes while playing the game? --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Well, I didn't play the original on the 360 either, but I noticed it while playing the DE.
There are a few instances in which Yuri changes voice actor from one line to the next, like in this cutscene (spoilers for after https://youtu.be/o2gt4LZoCj4?t=3165 (52:45) The three lines after Patty drops in on him are with the new voice actor, and the rest are with the original voice actor. There are entire cutscenes voiced with Yuri's new voice actor (I think every other voice actor reprised their roles, but they didn't always match their previous performances in regards to inflection, intonation etc.) https://youtu.be/AQYWnRdKXTE?t=1400 (23:00) There's also a noticeable difference in skits, for example, this skit is from the 360 version and sounds just fine: https://youtu.be/5YDcHTtEqRs?t=2248 (37:28) These skits are new to the DE version and sound terrible (in some cases the music may even play over the voice lines): https://youtu.be/lFBmLbM6N1Y?t=890 (14:50) https://youtu.be/RCTz9n3GKfQ?t=443 (7:23) https://youtu.be/UJucbKLJa7Y?t=641 (10:41) Overall the translation and voice work exclusive to the DE version are pretty shoddy. And if what PowerOats mentioned about Tales of Berseria is correct, then that makes me pretty worried about the quality of the translation there also... --- He was born in a coop, raised in a cage, children fear him, critics rage, He's half alive, he's half dead, folks just call him Buckethead ... For the past like, 20 hours, the story just doesn't go anywhere. The characters and plot just sort of meander from town to town, with retrieving the aqua blastia for the lower quarter being the closest thing to an objective this game has. Well, I didn't play the original on the 360 either, but I noticed it while playing the DE. @sauceje So I finally watched those videos and I do agree about the background music overlap. Do you think those are exclusive to the port? Because I was gonna complain about how sometimes the skits are hard to hear because they're drowned out by the music. As a rule of thumb in video games I always go straight to the sound settings and lower background music/sound effects while keeping voice volume high so that I can actually hear the dialogue during cutscenes. Tales of Vesperia is actually one of the better games in this regard however, because they actually offer sound options unlike some games, and are one of the few jrpgs to offer so many sound options. As for the Yuri voice actor change... I think subconsciously I know what you're talking about, maybe sometimes I feel like Yuri's voice is different. But honestly I just don't notice it and until there's a shot by shot comparison to show the difference, I just can't tell as I'm playing the game. It's never stood out to me.
