It's almost as bad as the Bret Hart screwjob. Why couldn't they give the show the 8:30 timeslot??? Why did they have to be so against the show?

FOX tends to screw over everybody

only The Simpsons seems to have escaped that fate (and even then, *not* ending the series may well be a bad thing at this point)

yeah but with this it hardly makes sense. Given the popularity of The Simpsons and what it did for the company, you'd think they would stick by Matt Groening's next idea and give the show a chance.

The show had 4 seasons on Fox. Hardly a Firefly "let it out to die" level of commitment.

Fox screwed itself. That's why they sold to Disney. Their football is basically all that makes them money.

Yeah but they kept changing the timeslot and even the day. They moved it to a Tuesday night out of the blue, then back on Sunday at literally 7PM when the show was, more often than not, not even aired (in some places) due to a football game still being on.

They never allowed for a base to build.

No idea. Early on I was expecting them to axe Bob's Burgers as well. Just given their rep of not knowing good cartoons, even when made by veterans. Then Adult Swim would of had to do their thing. Since Adult Swim had Home Movies as their very first show ever aired, I feel like they wouldn't let it fail without at least trying.

Oops, this is about Futurama. And I thought this related more, but I keep forgetting Comedy Central brought back Futurama the first time. Adult Swim just kept it alive in peoples hearts like they tend to do.

arrested development was a fox show right?

It was but unless they aired it majorly out of order I think they have AD a very fair shake, it got 3 full seasons with low ratings

Still not as bad as how they treated early Family Guy

Terrible time slot and never advertised for it

Yeah. I just watched a video about how it was ahead of it's time because it was made to be binged watched in a time that didn't make doing that easily accessible. It references itself and has so many call backs that it's hard to take everything in while only watching one episode a week. Then again, it did constantly walk you through the call backs.

Yeah they messed up with Family Guy, too. They were lucky enough to be able to bring it back.

The people at FOX were weird and only relied on Simpsons, Malcolm, and X-Files for their Sunday timeslot. I will say that Family Guy and Futurama had a better chance than a lot of their other cancelled shows.

Seasons 4-6 of Family Guy are way better than 1-3. It starts getting really bad but it was an initial improvement.

As someone who watches through the entire show annually. I gotta disagree. The come back was definitely way better than it's credited for. But nothing later on beats the first 3 seasons.
