Forgot about V, but I agree he deserves his status amongst the Snakes, however, consider Raiden also reached Snake-tier. He defeated Solidus and Metal Gear amongst other feats.

Such a good game, the part where Raiden pulls off to the side of the road to settle things with Sam remains stuck with me for some reason

I also love how Raiden deliberately refers to Snake in the present tense even though this takes place after MGS4, just another way of keeping his legacy alivelong , just another way of keeping his legacy alive

and with the whole gene thing, I'm not saying that Solidus was superior to Snake because of his genes, but that they at least had some affect in his ability, and because he was a part of LET, was groomed for combat since a very young age

but yea, experience/training also plays a huge part, that's why *MGSV spoilers* Venom could become equal to the original Big Boss

Gray Fox couldn't even stop Rex from crushing him, while Raiden is throwing around Ray and fights Excelsus with its own severed limb. Raiden is so far beyond Gray Fox it's not even funny.

tbf, most US politicians weren't fighting in civil wars since they were young, and training child soldiers

1. Fox wasn't trying to stop Rex, he was trying to get you to shoot Rex. You just fucked up.

2. Revengance isn't Kojima.

3. Ray is weaker than Rex.

Rising is fantastic (personally my favorite after the first three Solid titles), although personally I thought the Bladewolf dlc was much weaker than the main game, while Jetstream Sam was great. I don't remember too much of the VR missions I remember liking the different ones and the challenge wave thing which was cool.

This power argument is stupid.

Solid is physically inferior to the other Snakes, yet is clearly the most skilled given that he defeated all of them (well barring Solidus, and while he defeated Liquid in fights, Liquid would have ultimately killed Solid barring FOXDIE)

Solidus had a power suit and Raiden won fair and square. Big Boss kept his physical strength into his 60's (Kaz mentions Big Boss is still a physical monster in MG2)

Rising Era Raiden would lose to Snake on purpose since he sees him as his hero, but in a straight fight with no morals and both on an open battlefield 50 feet away from each other, Raiden will easily beat everyone else in the series at this point (well unless like Vulcan Raven or one of the other weird ones pulls out some magic, or you can dead man Sorrow)

And I believe Venom is canonically below Snake tier, it's mentioned in the novel, and as why the support systems in the game are in place to bring him up to a higher level. Even just from gameplay he's not shown to have the absolutely ridiculous strength Big Boss demonstrates in Peace Walker.

Written by a member of the KP team with Kojima's approval, so I'd say yes.

I remember hearing MSF era Miller>Venom is also mentioned in there too (which actually does make sense with how Peace Walker talks about MSF)
