Not for the purposes of this topic. Thought about including a poll option for fishing but decided against it

love to fish. but hunting doesnt sound like a good time to me.

I like shooting at cans or other non-living targets, but I've never had any interest in actual hunting.

I wouldn't say it was out of necessity but it wasn't only for sport. I've shot 2 white tail do's, a moose (male), and a black bear (male).

The deer/moose was hunted specifically for the meat (moose meat is my favourite). The bear was for both the hide and meat. We made sausages out of the bear (50% bear, 50% pork).

Ever had deer jerky?

I like shooting rifles and stuff but just at targets and stuff.

Doesn't help that hunting season is cold as hell and you have to get up at like 2, which makes it even colder.

Yep. Used quite a bit of the meat from both does for exactly that.

I voted "Yes, but only for sport" but I don't know if that is the best way to word it. That makes it sound like I am trophy hunting, which isn't the case. I hunt for food, but not out of necessity. It is just nice to have a varitey of meat I can't normally buy in the stores and to put some extra meat on the table. I could get by without hunting just as easily as anyone else, but I choose to hunt for bonus meat.

So realistically somewhere between hunting for sport and hunting for necessity.

I still consider hunting for extra meat like that to be "for sport" but i also consider "for sport" to be just keeping population numbers in control.
