Last tried it 3 years ago. Dropped it when I got to Sin.

Im determined to actually finish it this time though. Anyone have any suggestions for reclassing my characters? I want an interesting, unorthodox, playthrough.

Tried it 3 years ago too. Only got to Seymour 2. For some reason I really messed up my Sphere Grid & saved after the Shiva Puzzle so I couldn't go back and grind.

I remember having trouble in that fight, but I managed to get through it by grinding there. Theres even a shopkeeper irrc

I typically used Tidus, Yuna (or Lulu if serious magic was needed) and Auron for my party. I stuck with their "default" jobs. I pretty much followed along the story until it was time to hunt monsters.

The game wasn't hard. The only time it got hard was when I kept losing to Seymour in the mountain battle because I made bad decisions and was under leveled. Lady Yunalesca took me a few tries but nothing too bad

Her sphere grid was geared/leaning toward more black magic (shock!) so I'd have her with the better stuff with "ga" in the name. Wakka could get ahold of some decent magic too but I hated using him. I only used him for the Evrea battle.

Really anyone can be used throughout the game and win. You just need a tank, mage, and something in-between. My friend used Khamari, Tidus and Yuna with relatively no issues

I'm sorry to hear that. I only bought it to continue the story and complete my collection.

One summer in high school I basically did nothing but play FFX-2. Ever since I can't touch it. I have a save with like 400 hours.

When I played the HD version, I waited and saved for Lv3 Keyspheres so I could have Kimari take Rikku's route and not suck ass. Also had Tidus/Auron/Wakka diverge a bit. Was pretty fun.

IMO Tidus, Yuna, and Rikku make for the best 'normal' party.

Have Tidus do Tidus-y things. He doesn't really matter beyond being a beatstick. Haste and stuff like quick hit and cheer can be useful but he's there for muscle.

Have Yuna pick up some Black Magic from Lulu. At least -a rank. Why? Yuna's magic is actually very solid and her healing magic and the support spells she learns will ensure most enemies simply just can't get anywheres. After all, what's a powerful elemental to do when you can cast all four null spells and then hit them with the relevant anti, heal, and so-forth? Not to mention summoning. Yojimbo can flat-out render any fight 'moot' but you either need to have a butt-ton of cash or be willing to cheat for it to make it 'viable'.

Rikku rounds it out with her stealing and mixing. Taking apart Machina is nice but not really the big deal. Mastering her mix overdrive lets you bring the enemy into a massive world of pain, hurt, and painful hurting. If you can reliably pull off her trio of 9999 you can render most fights moot. Best done with the remake cheats but still entirely possible with 'normal' stuff. She'll be slow at the start sadly but once you get past that mixes are just too powerful.

But this is FFX we're talking about. IIRC people beat it without leveling up once on a regular basis and it's not hard outside of, like, two, maybe three, bosses and the bonus content.

Having Auron break the damage limit and one-shot the final boss was very satisfying.

Hmm. I ought to reply the game, too, seeing as to how the last (and only) time I beat was back in '02.
