This is from the same era where people were freaking out over "Naked Samus" when she was electrocuted in Super Smash Bros. A high resolution-ish mostly-naked fox girl in tribal garb was more than enough to drive those kids insane. Disney is at fault for its movies, but Star Fox and Sonic did it in video games too.
