I picked up all of the weathered weapons for lv80, got one of each lv70 raid coin just in case, and parked my main character in the Enclave since that seems like the best place to start for this thing. I'm waiting for the actual thing to prove me all wrong.

It turns out Kugane was the right place rather than the Enclave, and Kugane was my second guess. Go figure.

Once you have the first weapon, the others are easy. Alt relic weapons this expansion require four of a mat that costs 250 poetics each, meaning it's 1k poetics per weapon after the first one. So 16k poetics if you're doing all of the weapons to i485.

You do not need the Weathered weapons at all. Each weapon has five open meld slots. The base stats so far that I've seen aren't too bad either. I plan to get them all to 485 at least, and then I can laugh as Mch or Brd continues to pwn the high-level FATEs in Tempest, upper Kholusia, or western Amh Araeng.

I still need my Gunbreaker mounts, which may be a while. Those and the Rathalos mount are at least in progress.

Meanwhile, I am grinding poetics and need 8500 more--at the time of me writing this--to afford all of the first phase Resistance Weapons. I am also gathering the mats I need to make a Half-Timbered Cottage since I've decided I want one.

I might have to finally do the BLU challenges for poetics, come to think of it. =p

The Rathalos whistle dropped on my 35th clear of Ex. I got the second highest roll. So I guess I'm back to doing another 15 runs whenever I can.

At the time of writing this, I am also at 10/30 on BLU challenges. I went as far as to do the weekly objectives for extra poetics. I'm 7900 or less poetics away from finishing my resistance weapons, and then I can use the poetics to redo my house a bit. =p

Disappointed, but not surprised. This Covid thing is just that crazy.

Since we are looking at August or later for the next content patch, I will probably get all sorts of caught up with stuff in FFXIV, and maybe get a game or three knocked out in my backlog. Maybe also I'll get some progress made on one of my books I'm writing.

Anywho, at the time of writing this, I am 2950 poetics away from finishing my collection of Resistance Weapons. And Two bars of light in Pagos from getting my fifth weapon up to the end of Pyros (without substats).

There will be a Make It Rain, and potentially the Summer and Anniversary events if this goes long enough. In between those, I wonder if they'll throw in another Yokai or bring back one of the other previous campaigns.

I've gotten a friend of mine through Orbonne Monastery. That was a rough run. At least she will be able to get her Resistance Weapon(s) now.

Also, my house has been redecorated a little, and I'm looking at achievements I can earn somewhat swiftly since I'm so close to 11th rank in Gilgamesh's achievement points. That's not to mention I want to give the person behind me in the rankings a bit more of a challenge. lol

I finally got my fourth clear of HoH's 100th floor. This nets me my 113th mount, a necklace glam for my crafters, and a few additional achievement points.

I'm also at 103 credits for Gunbreaker toward the two mounts there.

7s enrage is hilariously slow and that boss's hp is too inflated

i feel like most bosses should at least end in a flurry of unavoidable aoes if there's no more mechanics for another minute

Ah, I had already mentioned my fourth HoH clear here.

I have only a few things left to work on that I want to work on in FFXIV, and one of them may take a while unless I finally get around to organizing a group to run something easy unsynced with a bunch of other tanks; something from Stormblood. My money's on Omega 2 normal, but I'm not sure how quick each run might be yet. I might need a dry run to test it out.

I've taken the last couple days off from playing the game because I've had other things to do or to enjoy, but tonight I was planning t hop on to do some FATEs so I can afford another orchestrion roll. Once I have the last four rolls from the gemstone vendors, I should be only a few hundred FATEs from the 10k achievement as well. =p

I went back to Eureka, Pagos even, to do my poetics via Notorious Monsters. I've been watching a playthrough of the FFVII Remake so I don't feel as much temptation to pay into Nomura's handling of the original game's plot.

I may go back and play the original FF7 soon. lol

And the first such trial will be Shiva. After taking a bunch of BLUs into Shiva Ex last night to get Glass Dance, and there being so many wipes while we tried it synced, I can only imagine how much more of a nightmare this is going to be. Shiva Ex wasn't even a hard fight when it was relevant, but you know... people and mechanics.

"After the Shiva rings, take her to A."
"Which rings? There's more than one."
"She has multiple patterns for ice coming down, but only one is called Shiva Rings because it's used in other fights including Titania. Once the rings have done that, get her to A, stack on her butt for bow, and let the group stand on B. Whoever gets the blue marker stand on C."
(It takes a couple tries, in part because my mic was doing its break-up thing again as it does whenever Auric is in chat with us, or whenever I have something of substance to share with everyone, meaning I had to write directions down. Luckily Rioka was there to call the thing out for me.)

Then we wipe again to something stupid.

Then we do the fight unsynced and everyone gets Glass Dance regardless. Good gods, that was draining...

shiva ex was actually the last fight i did before i took a 2.5-expansions-long break from the game, so trying it on a new difficulty (especially since we've been beating our heads on e8s) sounds fun

I am now 79/80 on BLU spells, with the last one being the rez. I should finish my BLU challenges either tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

The 29th Carnival was such a pain in the ass because server ticks kept saying I didn't make it somewhere in time, or didn't get my silence off in time, at random instances. Like, I had to choose between hoping and praying Flying Sardine did its thing at the last possible fraction of a second, or else stop all DPS for a couple seconds to wait for the abilities I needed I silence. When that finally happened on every attempt, and the game decided I wasn't in an aoe at any point that I had stopped, I cleared it.

Only the last Masked Carnival remains. I have the recommended spells set up, and will be aiming for the "None More Blue" achievement on top of the clear. This way I will get multiple achievements in a short order, assuming I succeed. I will still need to grab the last totem for my final BLU spell, but that's not far off I don't think.

Once that is done, I will also finally do the sole non-repeatable quest remaining on all my maps. The last time I was free of any bubbles, sans the repeatable quests, was before BLU came out. lol

Good to know. I never did do the Perfect Blue achievement because the third act of #25 was so frustrating for me.

As Paper already knows, I got my 30th Carnivale done this morning along with its "None More Blue" achiement, and the rez spell I had picked up from my totem was also my 80th Blu spell. So now that leaves trying to get the Morbol mount or doing some other instances with BLU, if I so chose. I don't exactly have a ton of time to invest on this either, however.

On my to-do list before 5.3, I have:

• Getting some Crystarium accessories for tanks, healers, and phys. ranged.
• Making some 3* mats HQ in preparation for the crafter and gatherer gear. Maybe just enough of these to have a foot in the door, so to speak, when I need to make this gear. I don't want to waste the time WHEN the patch is out, and I have the time now... sort of.
• Stockpile a ton of craft and gather materia for overmelds. Any Comp or Command VIIIs I have leftover after melding can probably go on the mb asap for a little extra gil to work with.
• Do O8s and get that mount.
• Get mounts from Innocence and Titania.
• Finish getting the Rathalos mount (probably while on Gnb).
• Also, the Gunbreaker mounts. I'll need to organize a dry run of O2n at some point to see how it goes with a bunch of tanks that are 80 and geared. If all goes well, I'm making it a farm. If someone has a better idea, I'm open to it.
• Try to finish the Elemental weapons fro Pagos. I nearly have all the Louhi ice I need, a ton of Pagos crystals, and almost enough Frosted Proteans to grab both my sixth and seventh weapons. While I'm at it, I should get my fifth weapon up to Eureka level from Hydatos so I can delete it and make space.

Think I can manage most or all of this with my work schedule AND while trying to get another book written?

Have 5s, 6s and s7 down pretty solid, can one shot all of them now. Still need a lot more practice on 8s in general though. Only been past Light Rampant once.

I am hoping to get a Gold Certificate from WT, or make a deal with a friend of mine to try for me (and I'd pay her for it), so I can get the Ornate crafting top that's bound to come out in 5.3. We shall see however.

My Rathalos mount is done, so I have other things to work on in-game.

For one, I am working on Eureka stuff, and have grabbed a few pieces of gear I may upgrade in Hydatos once I have the chance. I'm gonna have to find and join the Discord for BA so I can get some frag runs in, if not a full clear without the need for +2s. I'd like that Ozma mount, but then again I still don't have the Petrol in spite of having done so many damned Bunny FATEs in Hydatos. I could buy it, but won't. <_<

I'm so glad to have those already. Now I have zero need to run MS Roulette, and I can also avoid the Leveling and 50/60/70 Roulettes as much as necessary. If I had the proper BLU spells on Lyra, I might consider running AV a few times to get those minions, but really I don't even need or want to do that. xD

On the flip side, I am sorely disappointed that the Construct and Ramza minions aren't available with this thing that has the Ivalice raids as an option. <_<
