Weirdly enough, Zelda II which is why I have a soft spot for it. I didn't have an NES as a kid (parents kept saying it was too expensive... then they bought me an SNES when it was pretty new, go figure), so I was at the mercy of whatever games my friends and family had. My older cousin had Zelda II when I was visiting and he let me take a crack at it. Not too long after my best friend who lived down the street from me got the original game and we played the hell out of that. I never got all that far though.

Zelda 2. One of the first RPG/ish games I'd ever played. I never owned it though and could only play it at my mom's friend's house.
Second was Link to the Past which was mind-blowing in comparison. I saw Zelda 1 for the first time at a "friend's" house but he wouldn't let me even try it so didn't get to play it. I played and beat Link's Awakening once an exceedingly long time ago when I had a super game boy next I guess was OoT, which was pretty great at the time but aged poorly IMO (I agree with most of what egoraptor had to say about it) next would be Majora's Mask which I never really liked but want to try again some day then I eventually did get to play Zelda 1 and lastly, I played all the way through Wind Waker and thought it was ok but not as good as it could have been and then tried Twilight Princess and was pretty bored by midway or so, so gave up on it haven't had much interest in the series since then --- ... Weirdly enough, Zelda II which is why I have a soft spot for it. It was never really a bad game, people were just pissed because it was so different from the original (the same reason why so many people shit on Chrono Cross over Chrono Trigger).
