Current Events > Neighbor keeps parking IN my driveway. What do?

I saw her car parked in my driveway; I confronted her about it in person and asked her to stop. She "stopped".

A few weeks later, I saw her parked in my driveway again; I texted her to stop, again. This time, I installed a camera. Upon reviewing the footage, she parks there almost every day when I am not home. After about a week, I texted her that I have cameras installed, and that I saw that she was parking on my driveway when I'm not home, and that she needs to stop.

She stopped... then I went on vacation, and stayed away from the house for two weeks... guess what; she parked there essentially for two straight weeks.

How do I end this "peacefully"? I don't want to call the police, nor have to tow her car, but I feel like there's no other option.

She doesn't want to street park. The house is in the suburbs, and her family's driveway is pretty small. They have 4 cars, so she just parks in my driveway instead of on the street.

I guess you're right. I guess me personally I wouldn't mind it if it's not in my way or if she's not dirtying my property. If you feel strongly against it then you definitely need to take it to the next step if she ain't listening.

So what do you think is the better option here when I catch her red handed tomorrow (because I fully intend to come home earlier than normal):
1) Knock on their door and tell her (or her family member) to move the car,
2) Call the police and meet the police at my house then have the police deal with it, or
3) Just call the tow truck company and just have it towed?

Option (2) seems the most non-confrontational with police backup, but has the risk of her moving the vehicle out before the police and I get there.

Screenshot these texts you have and definitely dont delete the conversations from your phone incase she tries to sue.

Keep in mind yall are neighbors and still have to live next to each other so be prepared to come home to either a relative or a boyfriend of hers trying to beef with you. Get a dashcam in addition to the cameras around your house. Should you end up fighting someone, filing a police report yourself, or worse case scenario having to use deadly force to defend yourself, everything is recorded and you have a better chance of winning your case.

God forbid it comes to any of that though and towing her ass semd the message and she stops parking there. But shit like this is how people find themselves in these scenarios.

No, they are a working-class family. The stay-at-home mom lives with her husband (who is a garbage truck driver), their daughter (in grade school), a brother (not sure whose brother; he is a janitor), and another guy (not sure his relations).

I'd actually say that waiting until it's parked there overnight and calling an overnight towing service to come and take it away at like 3 in the morning is the best option. Let her wake up in the morning to her car just being gone.

Tell her that she's trespassing and that the city that you're living in will likely fine her for doing it and that you can sue her for it too. Don't tow her car yet. I legitimately don't know why someone would do that, is she mentally ill or something?

Hmm, I probably wouldnt tow it then. I know a lot of people have a blood lust in here but I dont see that being the right thing. Another user suggested renting out the spot which is an interesting idea, but that wouldnt be very fun to collect on. I would probably knock on the door at a reasonable hour and address the woman directly. Explain that you are at the last straw and will call a tow the next time it happens. And if it happens again then you know what to do

Ok, I was correct on the chemical, but it has to go into the oil instead. Might as well just drain the oil and make her think there's an oil leak at that point as I doubt you can access the oil fill. Though it'd still probably jack it up in enough quantity.

No reason to feel bad about it. If they need that many cars they clearly knew theyd have a parking issue when they purchased them.

Those issues arent solved by using your driveway. If you really feel like giving them one more chance loop someone else in because shes nuts.
