How many times?
I'm on a six day split and I hit all groups twice a week. But I think I'm going to the same workout twice a day. Before and after work.
Was wondering how y'all did it...

usually a cycle of 3 days, i was focusing more powerlifting than bodybuilding so i would do basically, a squat day, a deadlift day, a bench press day then repeat

later i added an overhead press day too

i don't particularly enjoy having a routine. it not only makes it more of a chore, but i feel like my body has way more success when the workouts aren't scheduled.

that said, when i do work out often, i usually do 3 or 4 times a week. each day focuses on a group or two groups specifically. days off between areas can vary from a few days to a couple weeks, even.

i've gotten amazing results this way, way better than when it was routine.

Just got done with my bicep/forearm workout.

I do abs Monday, biceps/forearms Tuesday, shoulders Wednesday, legs and a tiny bit of back Thursday, chest and triceps Friday. Also run 3 times a week and walk the other 2. Used to also walk on Sunday but I cut that out. Been at it for about 3 years now.

Recently began supersetting to cut down on time and that's been fun. I'm a caretaker (among other things) and do everything from home so I probably have more time to do it than the average person.

6 times a week. 90 minutes to 2 hours. 1 hour for lifting, 20-45 mins jogging. I do abs every other day. When I jog, I always hit 2-3+ miles AFTER lifting. No one should be lifting for more than an hour to 90 minutes. It's counter productive, unless you spend lots of time bsing, or cooling down, or on the juice. But by the end of it, you should feel completely spent. Don't jog for more than 45 min tops. 7th day, I rest.

not true, if you train long enough your body gets very fit and adapts to the frequency, in my personal experience even maximally lifting for 1-2 hours wasnt enough, i got better results lifting longer

I'm getting back into it slowly after being lazy for a few months, so I do strength training 3 or 4 times a week and hopefully I can go 5x a week. I do an upper/lower split, and include abs on my lower body days. My sessions are usually 60-90 mins, and I try to do about 20-30 mins of cardio after each session.

I generally like to go early morning, so that way I can train in an overnight fasted state and get better results.

I train MMA two days, and play basketball one day. I wouldn't call it cardio because you still use quite a bit of strength, and what I do on those days vary a bit.

I've been doing this since 2003. Worked perfectly for me for the body I wanted, and maintained it for 17 years. You?

More than workout routines, I would like to know what kind of a diet you guys have. To this day I like to mix them up, and try experimenting with different things. I avoid sticking with the same thing for the long term to avoid going insane.

Sorry, didn't see it. But yes. It works very well for me. But remember, what you eat is more important. About 60% is your diet. 40% is working out.

Small sample of my diet

Breakfast: 1/2 cup of steel cut oats. Sometimes with water, sometimes with unsweetened almond, or cashew milk. I mix it with a tsp of Flax seed, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of blueberries. On the side, I have 2 egg whites, and 1 whole egg, with plain black coffee.

Pre-Workout:Scoop of Organic Protein+Greens

Post-Workout:Scoop of Organic Protein+Greens with 1/2 cup Blueberries or 1/2 of green banana

Lunch: 8 oz boiled chicken, or Turkey with tbsp peanut butter. 2 cups basmati brown rice. 1 cup broccoli/cauliflower, with 3 egg whites. Or I make an omelete with 3 eggs whites, mushrooms, paprika, onions, green onions, and garlic. Use chili powder, tumeric, and black pepper for flavor.

Upper/Lower 4 to 6 days a week
On each upper day I'll focus on either chest, shoulders or arms but I'll still hit what I didn't focus on. Same deal with my lower days.

I hate cardio, so I don't do that.

I do 3x a week.

A core workout of:
dumbell press followed by a super set of push ups
Bent over rows
Overhead press
Planks
Dips

Each day also has like 3-4 extra lifts to work on certain muscles
Monday-shoulders
Wednesday-Chest
Friday-Arms

Deadlifts fit in on once a week on whatever day I have the energy to do them.

I'd say diet would be about 70% of the work, exercise is 30%, and good quality sleep is the last 10%. 7 to 8 hours of good quality sleep is extremely underrated, it's when all the fat burning and muscle regrowth happens.

6 hours is enough. For some people, even 4-5 hours. Always listen to your body. As long as you feel well rested, it's enough.

Yeah but some people trick their body with sugar and caffeine and get blown out, or they have tons of physical stress or mental stress. Sleep is one of the best ways to fix all of that.

If you can't condense your routine down to something between 45-60 minutes you aren't working hard enough. If the gym is your actual hobby in life then fair enough, its a great hobby to have. Cheap. Accessible. Beneficial, etc by all means, stretch it out all day if you dont have anything better to do.

But, the majority of people dont work out just for fun, they work out to look better and or improve their health and wan't to do so in a way that fits in to other commitments. That's pretty achievable for most people going as little as 3x per week for 45 minutes as long as they arent eating unreasonably poorly.

See, this is why I cannot take you seriously. Wtf is this?

The best advice I can give to anyone is to listen to your body. Which I have already mentioned. How it feels, how you feel, not what other people who never looked at you, nor checked you out(if they're a doctor), tell you how to feel, or should feel, through some article on the internet. Everyone is different. Every body, and their reactions to such, and such are different.

Again, toxic masculinty? Where the fuck did you pull this from? Gtfo.
