It's designed to make money on people too lazy to get their own food

First the prices are jacked up slightly higher than if you actually go.
Then they add a percentage based service fee on top of that (they usually try to lump it in with tax).
Then they add a set delivery fee that varies depending on where you're ordering from.
Finally they try to guilt you into a percentage based tip at the end, even though like 30-40% of that final price was fees.

On top of that, they don't even have the specials on the menu

like TGI fridays you can get a full rack of ribs for $13 on thursdays, and buffalo wild wings is half off wings on tuesday and thursday

on the app it'll still charge you full price

At a bar you're paying for the atmosphere and it's a place for socializing.

If my apartment had good parking I would never use those thing. However if I live I will lose my spot and have to park a mile away.

Imagine thinking being a slob with food delivered to your house is the same as drinking with people in a bar

I used to say only lazy people use the drive in. Now they don't even have to leave the house. I don't eat out very often but when I do I ain't paying double. Probably to have some greasy haired mustachioed calorie thieving slimeball pick at my food.

Markup is markup. Getting laid later, or barely having to leave the couch, is both a "convenience" vector for doing so.

I wonder if "uber for prostitutes" would be market viable...

Whenever I used DoorDash I just got the DashPass 1 month trial and quit before it ended.
For meals like $12 - $16 I'd pay, maybe $2 - $2.50 extra. I also didn't tip.

I mostly use stuff like Waitr for pickup because I can specify how I want my meal and sometimes it's hell getting someone to answer the phone. I only use the delivery if I'm not feeling well or if the weather is shitty.
