Yup. I had a gf way back when. Was with her for over 4 years and jn that time she'd cheat on me every 6 months or so. When I'd find out she'd do the whole crying, telling me how sorry she was, it'll never happen again, etc. They were legit tears and I knew she actually felt bad. Me "being in love with her" and "having the big heart" as you put it, mixed in with a little foolishess believed her and took her back. I wanted everything she said to be true.

Eventually something snapped in me and one time I didn't take her back. Best decision I ever made. Don't be afraid to be single. If someone does you wrong to that level then the hell with them. Move on to better things.

Somebody who cheats for 3 months straight and lies is honestly just a terrible person. If she could do that, she could easily do it again. Or worse. Clearly she doesnt give a shit about hurting you.

I can only speak from a friends experience. Don't take her back. Your worth more. Friend got married and less than a month after they were married she wanted a separation to "sort some things out". He pops over to her apartment and finds her in bed with another guy. Now, he beat the shit out of the other guy, but that's not the point I'm making here. If she was gone for 4 days, then clearly you weren't on her mind.

Take a couple weeks to yourself, and then get back on the bandwagon.

Theres a lot left out of that story. I dont believe everything was all good then outta nowhere after the marriage she wants to figure shit out.

Even if she genuinely does feel bad, it's clearly not enough to stop her from doing it in the first place. She literally cannot help herself. There is something broken inside a person that allows them to do that. The average person could not conceive causing this amount of pain to someone they supposedly love.

Think about an alcoholic that keeps falling off the wagon. Maybe he comes home and beats his wife and yells at his kids. Every time he sobers up he apologizes profusely, swears up and down that it'll never happen again, tells her he loves her, he doesn't want to lose her, etc.

Yet every single time he has that urge or something in his life is stressing him out or getting him down, he starts hitting that bottle again and repeats the whole process. A partner that cheats is a lot like that.
