So there's multiple series it seems with different but related characters... Is each section of the anime it's own show then basically? What order do I watch them in?

Each Part focuses on a different Joestar, or "JoJo" in a different time period, though there is overlap between certain Parts. You can just start with season 1 from 2012, which is Parts 1 and 2 together, and the rest follows in a standard and chronological order.

I'm not super well versed in the lore or the timeline, but basically each part has a different subtitle (Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, and Golden Wind--in that order)

The best way to watch is release order, but since it's basically stand-alone seasons with some crossover characters and references to previous seasons, you can basically jump in anywhere and only miss some of the extra details.

They're all their own characters, generally related to each other by blood in some way. They all have the nickname "Jojo" by some twist of their real name, but that gets less and less prominent as the series goes on. Most of the time they're just referred to by their real names.

Each new season has a new 'main' character, but previous mains show up pretty often in some form or another.

It's a manga inspired by Fist Of The Northstar and silver age comics that started in the late 80's. The characters and art take inspiration from the Renaissance period and music from the 70's/80's/90's.

Anywya are the jojos are the same bloodline in different timeline.

The second jojo is the first grandson, the third is the second grandson, and so on.

Everything from 1 to 6 are loosely connected while the newest 2 are alternate universe that act as a soft reboot

the main character in part 2 is a bit like if Adam West Batman had the body of a greek statue. the main character in part 3 is also built like a greek statue, and very clever, but less campy about it

Yeah, Netflix has season 1, and Hulu has season 1 2 and 3. Crunchyroll has season 4, and probably the other seasons too.

I really love the dub for part 1, because it is set in Victorian England, and they use hilarious English accents, but if you are the kinda person who hates dubs, then the sub is still really good.

A lot of characters are named after musicians, so they have to change the names for English localization. In the subs they even use the localized name, even though you can hear them saying the musician names in Engrish. Like the subtitle will say Santviento, but you hear the voice say Santana. But in the dub they say the localized version outloud too. Some of the localized names are great and some suck. Like there is a character with a power called dirty deeds done dirt cheap, and in the dub they call it filthy acts at a reasonable price.

I watched all of it on Toonami, so I saw the dub first, but in the passed few weeks I went back and watched the sub up through part 3. They are both good in their own way, so it is up to your preference.

But, if you wanna watch the dub, it is only available for part 1 and 2 which together make up the first season. Unless you have cable, or something like Sling tv, in which case the Adult Swim still has the dub on Demand for part 4 and part 5, they are currently at episode 10 out of 39 for the part 5 dub(Which is the last part that is already in anime form.)

The first season has the best dub, and then I also really like season 3's dub(Which is part 4.) But they are all good enough. I would just watch a few episodes, and switch the language a few times as you go in the options to see which one you prefer for season 1. Robert E. O. Speedwagon has a particularly great cockney accent in the dub.

Just watch them in order from the beginning. Part 1 tends to be considered slower than the others but I feel like it is a must watch if you really want to watch the rest of the series.
