I only saw it for the first time somewhat recently. I had heard beforehand a lot of people talk about how gross or explicit it is, but it really isn't. Like at all. There's one blink-and-you'll-miss-is shot of her hoo-haw in the beginning but otherwise I think they play it relatively safe. It was good. Not amazing, but good.

And then I saw it. Huge letdown.

It was okay. I still think Del Toro should have won best picture for Pans Labyrinth. That movie was amazing

My mother rented that movie for me when it came out thinking it was a fairy tale story I would enjoy. She didnt watch it with me, either.

I bet at some point in history other races of people weren't considered human and sex with them was considered "bestiality."

Bestiality is termed as such because we're the only animals with such a level of awareness and sentience as to recognizably consider consent. If we suddenly got fish people who wanted to bone and were of similar mindmapping as humans, it would be weird, but not wrong.

yeah this. the really awful part about bestiality is you're basically raping a nonsentient creature with no ability to consent
