Nah man. Boss Cell 1 is really just the normal difficulty. Boss cell 2 it starts to get difficult fast.

My hand of the king tactic was jump around avoiding everything and throw out traps

Tbh I also had a legendary nutcracker which helped. The game is all about the luck of your drops.

I eventually decided I wasn't really having fun any longer, save scummed the final boss by reloading a cloud save, and then peaced out after the first cycle. I like rougelites more than roguelikes, but I do not have the patience to master the game/get lucky to the point of beating that in one go or tackle even more broken versions of the same enemies.

Have you looked into Remilore?

I finished 4 cells only once and that was before the new boss update (I don't play it anymore).

0 cell is VERY easy, don't kid yourself.

4 cell is nightmare difficulty. It's a whole new game because of the Malaise, everything changes since all enemies infect you and most of the food is poisonous.

1, 2 and 3 cell are like 0 cell but considerably harder.

Like you need to completely revamp your strategy for 4 Cell because survival goes from best strat to useless immediately.
