Kinda. My grandmother was and was the type to insist on going to church every Sunday until she got older and just didnt have as much energy. My mom was the same until I was around 12ish i think. Church bashed homosexuality and she got up grabbed me and we walked out. Aside from funerals/weddings we havent been back. My grandad was christiam as well but aside from funerals weddings would never enter a church ever since he got back from vietnam and he went to one and they bashed the soldiers.

So yeah a religious family but one with its hang ups with the church itself. My mothers thing was whether you consider homosexuality a sin or not its not our place to pass judgment on something that literally effects no one else. Ever since shes felt church was for the self righteous and she could just practice her religion from the comfort of her home.

Shes played around with exploring other relgions herself too so shes never given me much issue on whether im christian ot not. Ive never outright told her im not but shes a smart woman with the things i say im sure shes figured it out.

That was the plan. I ended getting kicked out of catholic school when I was around 5ish, and that was that.

I would say no, but I was pretty heavily exposed to it. Neither of my parents are religious, but my grandmother is. So occasionally she would take me to church if I was spending the weekend there or something.

She got ordained a few years back and I never felt more awkward and out of place. So many hymns and prayers that I knew nothing about. And they sat me right near the front.

Not really, I went to catholic schools and got dragged to church by my grandma till she sadly passed away when I was 9. But that's the extent of it really.

I demand a middle option.

My mother was pretty strongly religious, but more in her own observation than in trying to proselytize to others. My father was an atheist, mostly out of psychological self-defense from fighting in Vietnam (his mindset was basically "I've killed people, so that means I'm going to hell, so I'm going to convince myself there's no hell, no afterlife, and no god."

I went to church and Sunday School as a kid (I actually helped teach Sunday School for a year at one point), but there was always that corollary of "Yeah, well, you know, maybe none of this was actually real."

So I essentially grew up with a very positive view of religion in general (and nearly every religious person I know tend to be of the "nice, caring, helpful" type and not the "preachy, judgmental, hypocritical" type), but at the same time never really related to it on any level and wound up eventually becoming agnostic (after going through my obligatory edgy teen atheist phase).

Nope! I went to church a couple times with a friends family to see what it was like and lost interest quickly. We celebrate Christmas, but mainly the family part. (Not much family left nowadays though.)

Yes, but I haven't regularly gone in a long time. I think currently I'm somewhere between Christian and agnostic, but leaning toward Christian.

I've had lots examples of both the good and bad kinds of Christians, so I know not to judge anyone solely on their religion or lack thereof. My current pastor is one of the best guys I've ever known, always willing to go above and beyond for anyone.

Yes, and I was a Christian until my late teens then went to a kinda jaded anti-organized religion Christian to agnostic to atheist to now a guy that believes there's some sort of God out there but we can't possibly know what it's like, if it cares about us, or if it is even conscious at all

Overall my outlook went from Judeo-Christians good and everyone else was neutral-bad to every religion bad to there's good and bad teachings in all religions (of varying degrees) so take the good from each

This. My parents were raised in religious households and their parents made them go to church until they were 18. I'm glad I didn't have to deal with that bullshit.
