I am trying to justify buying a premium currency for games, but there's not really much out there and wanna know if I am missing some.

there was a game about auctioning art. looking it up it's called Masterpiece, and it looks like it uses huge denominations ($100k-$1M bills)

stock ticker uses $25-$5000

The Mad Magazine board game did, but good luck finding that one these days.

The one fun thing about that one is that there was a $1,329,063.00 bill that was completely and utterly worthless in play, and existed solely so the Banker could try and steal it from the Bank without being noticed by the other players.

eBay has a bunch. Complete and in fair condition around $20, which isn't too bad.

If you're looking for mint condition, that would probably be more difficult to track down.

I actually meant new, but also didn't think there'd be all that many people selling them used anywhere anyway. I remember it being kind of obscure even when I got a copy of it.

Then again, when I found my copy, it was already like 10+ years old. And it's not like I was going to game stores or looking in the board game aisle in department stores when I was 2 years old.

Millennium Blades uses a ton of money; especially since you're supposed to get the cash into small bundles to use instead of just single bills.

Axis & Allies uses currency in the form of Industrial Production Certificates (IPCs) for purchasing new units. While the game comes with some fairly bland looking paper currency in 1, 5 and 10 unit denominations, there's apparently a thriving aftermarket for new and improved currency and coinage.

Yea... You're probably not going to find a huge market for that. At best you buy generic bills that are utilized in a bunch of games but most people just don't play board games enough for it to matter.

Once again, I have the currency. I am looking for more games that use currency to use mine with.

note that the denominations may not matter, as long as you can build the same amounts and not run out of bills. in monopoly you start with 2 500s, 2 100s, 2 50s, 6 20s, etc.etc. but who cares, what matters is that you start with $1500. (a much simpler way to start the game is to just give everyone 3 500s.)

for a game like Masterpiece where you have $1M bills, probably you can just scale things down (divide by 10,000 or something).

ohh i should have read the whole topic. i just use cheap poker chips and say red = 1 etc. but it would be nicer to have chips where it's written on them. i use mine for train games and power grid, and occassionally as random replacements for other components that are crappy/lost.

theyre also useful for prototyping if youre into that
